• Green Checklist:- Will be revised twice a year to ensure it is kept u p to date.- Each project will have a Green Checklist completed and kept on

What is a transition group?

‘Community-led groups that respond to climate change and shrinking supplies of cheap energy, building resilience and happiness.’

Transition Objectives To become a Transition Group a Transition Steering group needs

to be developed for the community, with an aim of achieving the following;

• Raise awareness of climate change and peak oil, and the need to undertake a community lead process to rebuild resilience and reduce carbon

• Connect with existing groups in the community who can help achieve the above

• Form groups that can help achieve the above (such as food, energy and transport groups)

• Develop practical projects aimed at building people’s understanding of resilience and carbon issues and community engagement

• Eventually launch a community resilience plan over a 15 to 20 year timescale
