Position Monitoring (optional)• Signaling box with mechanical or inductive contacts• Compact signaling unit for magnetic position detectors
Standard Visual Position Indicatorwith clear polypropylene cover.Available on 63 and 90 operators
ASCO Pilot ValvesSeries • 8325 • 8320are the industry standard for reliability and durability in all industrial environments
Anti-water HammerThe fluid passes under the disc resulting in slower closure
High Flow Rateoptimization of the fluid flow path
Solid Stuffing Box Total external sealingFlat embedded seal and chevron shaped PTFE seal
Spring Loaded Stem SealThe Viton* wiper keeps harmfulgrit away from the stem area. As a backup, there are multiple-ribbed shearing rings that providea cleaning action in the stemgrooves. These shearing rings provide a longer life by preventing debris from reachingthe chevron packing.
Solid Watertight Actuator made from tough fiber compositeand protected withdouble o-ring seal
Piston Actuatorrotates 360º to allow easy assemblyand positioning of pilot port
ReliabilitySmooth stem movement guided by2 oversized bearings
Also Series 189 Banjo Valves
Bubble-tight shutoffwith PFTE disc
One Piece Cold Rolled S.S. Stemprovides added strength and less resistance

4 Series 8290...reliable performance
and long life. These 2 way angle-body piston valves have proven durability in handling aggressive fluids, tested to over onemillion cycles. In addition, they can be used in high cycling steam applications (entry above disc), as well asmain line steam (entry under disc) dependent upon the velocity and pressures applied to the stuffing box. Asthe actuator exhausts, the piston slowly closes against the angle body seat to eliminate water hammer.
Available in cast bronze bodies with brass or 304 s.s. stuffing box and 303 s.s. disc...or in fine investment-cast316L s.s. bodies with all 316L s.s. wetted internals. The 50 operator, 63 operator, and 90 operator valves have a 431 s.s. stem held by the stuffing box and chevron-ring packing protected by a Viton* wiper ring which prevents any particles in the media from entering the packing area.
All three models have a weep hole on the stem which provides great visual indication of any shaft scoring. The 63 operator and 90 operator actuator housings have a pilot port and an exhaust port with a sinteredsilencer. Visual position indicators are standard features, with reeds or electronic switches available as options. The 50 operator housing has one pilot port and a top exhaust, with optional electronic or visual position indication available only in Normally Closed constructions.

Note: If the downstream pressure is higher than the upstream pressure (backpressure), apply the following conditions to select the appropriate pilot pressure:• 50 Operator: take the 58 psi minimum pilot pressure add 29 psi to chart II, move the graph up linearly.• 63 and 90 Operator: add 22 psi minimum pilot pressure to charts IV, VI.
Backpressure with liquids is not recommended as water hammer effect can arise except within allowabledifferential pressure limits. ( Maximum 150 psi.)

Valve Position Indicator Signaling BoxThis Signaling Box fits all Series 8290 Valves. It is suppliedseparately as a kit with two mechanical switches, or two non-contact switches with LEDs, and mounts on top of thevalve actuator in place of the standard visual indicator. Asthe valve cycles, cams on the signaling lengthening stemoperate the switches to provide electrical signaling of the
valve position. The signaling box can be rotated 360˚ on the centerline andbe locked into place with a set screw.

Compact Signaling Unit The operation rod of the Compact Signaling Unit is attached to thestem of the valve and contains the permanent magnet. The extremepositions of the valve stem can therefore be detected by either thereed switch or the magneto-resistive detectors. It is possible to install one or two detectors to monitor one or both positions of a valve.

General DescriptionThese auxiliary-piloted, 2 way ASCO Series 8352 angle body soft seated valvesfeature an extra large Viton*disc which provides extendedservice life when handlingheavy slurries and metal cuttings.
The unique seat design permits compression of the disc material to providetight shut-off. This allows fluids, such as coolantscontaining sharp metal filings, to be handledwithout fear of damaging the seat seal.
Fluids pass under the seat, eliminating water hammer.
The solid actuator head is castiron and is bolted directly to thevalve body.
