All ICs and many other semiconductors are susceptible toelectrostatic discharges (ESD). Careless handling duringrepair can reduce life drastically. When repairing, make sure that you are connected with thesame potential as the mass of the set via a wristband withresistance. Keep components and tools at this potential.
Safety regulations require that the set be restored to itsoriginal condition and that parts which are identical withthose specified be used.Safety components are marked by the symbol

Introduction
Entertainment for the new millenniumVideo was never like this before! Digital video discs provide perfectdigital, studio-quality pictures; three dimensional digital, multi-channelaudio; story sequences screened from your choice of camera angle;sound tracks in as many as eight languages; and up to 32 subtitles (ifavailable on disc). Whether you watch DVD-Video on wide-screen orregular TV, you always see it the way it was meant to be.
Digital VideoDVD-Video uses state-of-the-art MPEG2 data compression technologyto register an entire movie on a single 5-inch disc.
