•Students come into high school with a variety of skill levels and understanding of math

•First month is spent on Number Sense and bringing the class to the same level • Review of integer operations, exponents, fractions,

expressions with variables

•“Getting Ready for Grade 9” work package will be emailed in June for students to complete over the summer in preparation for September

• Important for parents/guardians to understand the math pathways in the Ontario curriculum so they can make informed decisions – feel free to ask questions!

•A reminder that taking a “mixed” or “college” level math course does not prevent students from attending university • For example, a student wishing to study humanities at

university typically does not require a Grade 12 U level math

•A variety of courses are offered to students

•Extra help and support from teachers is generally available before or after school • Most teachers have websites with completed note sets and

practice assessments

•The Student Success Department offers support to students who are not formally identified (no IEP) but have learning needs.

GLS4O1 for senior students. • Informal Monitoring •Peer Tutoring Program
