Applying to SUNY New PaltzREQUIRED TOEFL SCORES Paper-based or institutional

TOEFL (given by SUNY) = 550 Internet TOEFL (iBT) = 74 IELTS (6.5 overall) Scores need to be submitted to

SUNY New Paltz: sent by ETS (#2541), official score sheet

faxed, or signed letter from SUNY official.

Getting to SUNY New PaltzApplication for F-1 Student Visa

Must complete required financial documents; you must document enough funds to cover the full costs of study at New Paltz. http://www.newpaltz.edu/admissions/fsa4.pdf.

Academic Policies (available on the website)

You must have a minimum GPA of 1.9 to come to SUNY New Paltz.

New students must maintain a cGPA of 2.00 for economics and 2.75 for

business. Students who fall below these levels will be put on academic probation. The cGPA must be raised to the appropriate level the following semester to avoid dismissal.

Choosing classes at New Paltz• You will be able to choose some of elective

classes at New Paltz. • General elective (GE) classes are actually

requirements; business students take ART, WEST, HUM, and USST.

• Economics students take ART and HUM, along with two writing courses.

• You can search by Attribute (GE3) in the online course catalog to make selections.

We hold an orientation session for new students at the start of each spring semester. Attendance is mandatory so we can help you get the best start at New Paltz. Travel and orientation dates will be published on the website

information on travel dates and spring/summer calendars.Be sure to book your flight on the date that we will provide a

ride from the airport.Register for classes by the deadline.Upload all required documents and read information sent to

you.
