•Usually have at least a single common

purpose

•Could be around a product or company,

idea or cause, celebrity, lifestyle etc..

•Network of people!

•Rather than “managing”, better focusing

on “Curating” or “Nutriting” online

communities

•Should NOT treat them as just consumers

•Should NOT aim at “dictating” the

conversation

•They are “empowered and connected
