Increased Offertory Program
In the weeks ahead, you will be reading more about a new Increased Offertory Program taking place at our parish. This program is an opportunity for all of us to address the most pressing need in our parish through increased giving—the need of reducing our debt. Our hope is to increase our weekly collection by at least 20%.
Each week, this space in the bulletin will be devoted to reminders and important announcements concerning the Increased Offertory Program. Please be on the lookout for more information about this exciting opportunity.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your produce.”

The History of the Twelve Days of Christmas
Did you know:
From 1558-1829 Catholics in England we prohibited from practicing their faith
at all? Possessing and professing anything Catholic could result in grave con-
sequences. Therefore, in order to teach catechism, the English Catholics com-
posed a song about the Twelve Days of Christmas. The song’s true love
refers to God and the “me” is the fellow believer.
Each gift in the song has a spiritual significance:
1. Partridge in a Pear Tree – Jesus on the Cross
2. Turtle Doves – Old and New Testament
3. French Hens – Faith, Hope, and Charity
4. Calling Birds – Four Gospels
5. Golden Rings – The Pentateuch
6. Geese a laying – Six days of Creation
7. Swans a swimming – Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit
8. Maids a Milking – Eight Beatitudes
9. Ladies Dancing – Nine Fruits of the Spirit
10. Lords a leaping – Ten Commandments
11. Pipers Piping – Eleven Faithful Apostles
12. Drummers Drumming – Twelve points of the doctrine in the Apostles Creed
May the spirit of this song help you to forever keep Christ in Christmas.
Always remember that Jesus is truly the reason for the season!

Giving Prayer
Send your Spirit upon us, Lord, to teach us to be grateful and generous with praise, kindness, and love for Your every blessing in our lives. You have blessed each of us in many ways: Family, friends, gifts, talents, and so much more. You are the Source of our joys and the Provider of all things good. Guide us through the Holy Spirit, help us share a portion of our gifts, so that we may, as a parish, realize our vision to walk as followers of Jesus Christ, dedicated to peace, respect, generosity, and humility.
Amen

Song Book
It Was On A Starry Night:
It was on a starry night
When the hills were bright
Earth lay sleeping
Sleeping calm and still
Then in a cattle shed
In a manger bed
A boy was born
King of all the world.
Chorus:
And all the angels sang for Him
The bells of heaven rang for Him
For a boy was born
King of all the world.
And all the angels sang for Him
The bells of heaven rang for Him
For a boy was born
King of all the world.
Soon the shepherds came that way
Where the baby lay
And were kneeling
Kneeling by His side
And their hearts believed again
For the peace of men
For a boy was born
King of all the world.
All are invited to sing:
O little town of Bethlehem
O little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light.
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.
Child in the manager
Child in the manger,
Infant of Mary
Outcast and stranger,
Lord of all
Child who inherits
All our transgressions
All our demerits on Him fall
Once the most holy
Child of salvation
Gently and lowly, lived below
Now as our glorious
Mighty Redeemer
See Him victorious
O'er each foe
Prophets foretold Him
Infant of wonder
Angels behold Him
On His throne
Worthy our Savior
Of all our praises
Happy forever
Are His own
The Friendly Beasts
Jesus our brother, kind and good
Was humbly born in a stable rude
And the friendly beasts
around Him stood
Jesus our brother, kind and good.
"I," said the donkey,
shaggy and brown,
"I carried His mother
up hill and down;
I carried her safely to
Bethlehem town."
"I," said the donkey,
shaggy and brown.
"I," said the cow, all white and red
"I gave Him my manger for a bed;
I gave Him my hay
to pillow His head."
"I," said the cow, all white and red.
"I," said the sheep with curly horn,
"I gave Him my wool
for His blanket warm;
He wore my coat on
Christmas morn."
"I," said the sheep with curly horn.
"I," said the dove
from the rafters high,
"Cooed Him to sleep
that He should not cry;
We cooed Him to sleep,
my mate and I."
"I," said the dove
from the rafters high.
"I," said the camel, yellow and black,
"Over the desert, upon my back,
I brought Him a gift
in the Wise Men's pack."
"I," said the camel, yellow and black.
Thus every beast by some good spell
In the stable dark was glad to tell
Of the gift he gave Emmanuel,
The gift he gave Emmanuel.
