Wiltshire Horn Sheep are one of the horned breeds of short-wooled British sheep used for meat.

They have an ancient heritage and are one of the few original wool shedding sheep breeds.

Ewes as well as rams are horned

Wiltshire Horn Sheep are well-muscled and lean.

The meat is top quality and in demand by discerning chefs

Ewes are highly fertile, with the majority of births being twins.

Triplets and quads are not unusual and are usually raised naturally by their mother.

Wiltshire Horns naturally shed their wool in Spring, starting gradually…

Then over the next few days more is lost

For most of Spring and Summer they have no wool until it grows back in Autumn

Commercial rams are always available and produce excellent crossbred lambs, whatever the breed of ewe

Lack of wool means no shearing, crutching, dipping, or controversial mulesing.
