Admission in Udgam School - (02-07-2015)

Nelson Mandela had rightly said Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change

the world. To prepare such igniting youth through education, we at Divya Darshan Bhawan constantly

try to provide platform to Divya Nagari Slum Children in all possible different ways.

On 1st of July, admission of 9 Divya Nagari Slum children

in Nursery and 1 kid in Play group in well-known and one

of the best school of Ahmedabad 'Udgam School',

Jodhpur Char Rasta, Ahmedabad had successfully

completed. Total education will be provided at free of cost

to these children by the Management of the Udgam

School. School dresses, books and stationary will be also

provided by the Udgam School. These children are

excited to go and study in CBSE School. Their parents are

feeling gratitude after finding their children going in

prestigious school at free of cost. Now these children are

taking education with other students belonging higher

socio-economic classes and will be trained accordingly.

Here are some of the photographs of the smiling

angels, wearing school uniform and going to

Udgam School. We believe that their carrier

now will take a new shape after entering into

such school and their entire education will be

completely free of cost. We express our deep

gratitude towards Resp. Brother CA.

Gautambhai Chokshi (Founder, Udgam

School) for admitting these children in Udgam

School.

We are trying to get few more kids' admission

in other such prestigious schools.

Small Saving Scheme for children - (10-07-2015)

Wealthy Children for Wealthy India

Divya Nagari-A Great Transformation Project

is a holistic and unique approach for the

development of the slum people. Efforts are

constantly being made from all different

directions to achieve the goal proposed in Phase-

II. It is said that savings is our elder brother. So

now we are targeting the economic stability and

financial upliftment of the society by introducing

Small-Saving Scheme for Divya Nagari Slum

Children. This Scheme is designed according to

the Indian Post Office Recurring Deposit Account.

In this scheme, a monthly fixed saving of a child will be

supported by equal contribution from his/her parents as

well as any well-wisher from Divya Darshan Bhawan,

Brahma Kumaris, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.

Suppose, Rs.100 is the monthly fixed saving of a child

then Rs.100 will be contributed by his/her parents and

Rs.100 by any well-wisher from Divya Darshan

Bhawan, Brahma Kumaris, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.

In total, Rs.300 will be monthly deposited in recurring

deposit account at Post Office opened in the name of that

child jointly with his/her mother, which will be available

to him/her with 8.4% PA interest at the end of 5 years.

In this way, not only a child but also their parents will be educated

for the small savings.

On 9th July, 2015, Thursday, a special meeting of Divya Nagari

Slum children and their parents with BK Ishitaben (Centre In-

charge, Navrangpura) and BK CA. Lalitbhai (Mount Abu), Mafa

Dada (Social Worker at this slum) was arranged to explain this

small saving scheme for Divya Nagari slum children. They

expressed their happiness and excitement for this scheme.

This will be helpful to parents as well as children for their financial freedom and will be proven as a

boon for future education. All these initiatives are outcome of all of your good wishes and support and

we wish the same, even in this saving project for the slum people.

were given to each child. Record of their savings is also being maintained in the register.

5th Medical Camp-Pediatrician - (12-07-2015)

Healthy Children for Healthy India

On 12th July, 2015, 5th Medical Camp was

successfully completed at Divya Darshan

Bhawan, Brahma Kumaris, Navrangpura,

Ahmedabad for children of Divya Nagari

Slum under inspiration from BK Ishitaben.

A renowned pediatrician BK. Dr. Ankitbhai

Patel and his team conducted entire camp.

Around 44 children benefited from this

camp.

Main focus of this camp was to make them

aware about malnutrition and develop good

food habits in these children. Free medicines

were also distributed to all the patients and

guided for better health.

6th Medical Camp-Dentist - (19-07-2015)

A free dental check-up camp was organized

for Divya Nagari Slum people on 19th July

2015, Sunday at Divya Darshan Bhawan,

Navrangpura, Ahmedabad from 9 A.M. to 12

noon.

The team of 3 dentists, B.K. Dr.

Maulikben, Dr. Ishitaben, Uravshi ben had

conducted this entire camp. There were 70

slum people who had been examined and

treated by the doctors. Doctors explained

them bad effects of chewing tobacco on

teeth. Free medicines were also being

distributed to these patients.

B.K. Ishitaben (In Charge, Navrangpura

centre) had explained knowledge of

Rajyoga and enlightened how supreme soul

act as a doctor of soul and heals us. Smiles

on the faces of these people is the reward

for the entire team of Divya Darshan

Bhawan.

Rajyoga Shivir for Children (Class 5 to 12)

(From 20 to 25 Jul,2015)

We believe that process of transformation

involves the following vital steps of;

Realization, Liberation, Celebration and

Sustenance. Our initiative of transforming

Bhagat Ki Chali to Divya Nagari is also

following the above process. In this line of

efforts, we have initiated Rajyoga education to

Divya Nagari Slum children so as to make them

realize their original identity and provide them

with the spiritual base for successful and

positive transformation.

Under the instrumental inspirations, guidance and

efforts of B.K. Ishitaben (Centre In-charge,

Navrangpura, Ahmedabad) and B.K. CA.

Lalitbhai (Accounts Department, Mount Abu),

Rajyoga education shivir was arranged from 20th

July 2015 to 25th July daily from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M.

at Divya Darshan Bhavan.

Explanation about the knowledge of Self, God

and World Drama had played fundamental role

in changing these childrens attitude and action

to positive. Immediate change in their way of day

to day activities and behaviour are the key

indicators of success of Rajyoga shivir. To

evaluate the understanding of Rajyoga

Knowledge, a special exam was also conducted

on 25th July. All the children were excited and

enjoyed the entire shivir. All children performed

well even in the exam, indicating their

understanding in this field. We will soon share

the experiences of some of the children who felt

self-transformation in them.

Rajyoga Shivir for Children (Nursery to Class 4)

(From 20 to 25 Jul, 2015)

With the aim that these small divine innocent

gods angels will spread happiness and purity

through their words and actions after learning

Rajyoga, we initiated teaching rajyoga to small

children in creative and simple way. B.K.

Menaben conducted the shivir for these small

children. Rajyoga education and meditation

will bring values in the life of these young

children and will empower them with virtues.

These small children who are pure and divine

were being explained all the lessons about the

Self, God and World Drama in ingenious and

narrative way. Children were really very happy

after listing value based stories and Rajyoga

knowledge. At the end of this 5 days shivir,

which started from 20th July, all children were

asked to give an oral exam based on the lessons

of Rajyoga.

Top 10 best scoring children were given a

beautiful pen as a token of appreciation. All

children shown their interest in God and

Rajyoga education at such a tender age is not

only surprising but also inspiring. Here are

26th Annual Day Celebration - (27-07-2015)

Brahma Kumaris services started in Ahmedabad Navrangpura area in 1989 under the leadership of

Respected B.K. Chandrikaben. The journey today reached to Divya Darshan Bhawan. We celebrated

26th Anniversary of our Ahmedabad Navrangpura Centre from 6.00 PM to 8.15 PM. Despite of

continuous heavy rain, about 90 children from Divya Nagari, few parents and faculties came to Divya

Darshan Bhawan.

Respected BK Karuna Bhai Ji from Madhuban was

Chief Guest of the celebration. He also launched

'divyanagari.bk.ooo' website which will show latest

updates about Divya Nagari slum project. Candle

lighting and cake cutting were main attractions of the

celebration.

BK Ishitaben, Centre In Charge, BK CA. Lalitbhai

from Abu, BK. Dr. Bipinbhai, Mafa Dada, Social

Leader and Bhikhiben, Leader of Bhagat Ki Chali

also motivated all with their words of wisdom.

Many cultural activities were presented by children.

A drama on 'Cleanliness' presented by Bhikhiben

and group.

A purse, colourful booklet of Shiva Sandesh,

chocolate and cake were given to one and all.

Brahma Bhojan was served to all participants.

It was a nice celebration and everybody

enjoyed a lot.

Basic Test for Computer Class Entry - (30-07-2015)

Knowledge is Might

Louis V. Gerstner, Jr., ex-chairman, IBM has

said that Computers are magnificent tools

for the realization of our dreams, but no

machine can replace the human spark of

spirit, compassion, love, and understanding.

Computer knowledge and proficiency now

have become the most important.

Digital India movement started by our honorable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi is an

indicator of the need for computers knowledge. Keeping this in mind, we, at Divya Darshan Bhawan

thought to initiate computer education to the interested and eligible Divya Nagari children. They will

be taught computers practical operative knowledge daily from 7 P.M. to 8 P.M. immediately after daily

educational classes. To select the interested and bright students, a small but conceptual and intellectual

exam was designed by B.K. CA. Lalitbhai (Accounts Department, Mount Abu) and it was organized

on 30th July, 2015. The selected students will be given free education of computers at Divya Darshan

Bhawan under the inspirations of B.K. Ishitaben (In-Charge, Navrangpura centre). Brother Manish

Gohel has expressed his interest to serve as faculty for these classes.

Women Empowerment through Literacy Drive

(Every Monday to Friday)

There are many youths, elderly sisters and

mothers who are illiterate in the Divya Nagari

slum. These children who joined us for daily

education in Divya Nagari project when go

back to their home, they share their

experiences with lots of excitement. The

constant happiness and excitement inspired

their parents to learn basic education.

These women of Divya Nagari slum who joined us

from 18th June 2015 for basic education now started

experiencing confidence and developing a penchant

to learn and continue this process with tireless efforts

by BK Diptiben. B.K. Ishitaben, Centre In-charge,

Navragpura is also inspiring and motivating them.

Every day she realizes these women their original

identity and strengthen them. Some of them started

writing their name and even started reading.

We believe this wonderful transformation in

women of Divya Nagari locality will bring

tremendous change in their family as well.

Basic English Teaching for Women


English has now became the integral part of

education system. Divya Nagari Children

are learning English in school and also in

Divya Darshan Bhawan. They are also being

given the homework in all subject.

While doing homework when these children face

problem, they ask their sisters and parents

However, they left with no answer. This

incapability of Divya Nagari Women had been

rectified by the Basic English Education that is

being taught as a part of Divya Nagari project

activity.

Around 33 women and girls daily come to

Divya Darshan Bhawan from 2:30 to 3:30

P.M. for this education. Mrs. Hinaben

Vijaybhai Patel and B.K. Pinky ben are our

faculty for these classes. Their love-full

behaviour empowers these slum women. We

believe that these women will start adopting

English language more not different than

other language.
