“ A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding hall of a big airport.

As she had to wait for many hours, she decided to buy a book to spend her time. She bought, also, a packet of cookies.

She sat down on a armchair, in the VIP room of the airport, to rest and read in peace.

On side of the armchair there was packet of cookies. A man sat down, opened his magazine and started reading.

When she picked up the first cookie, the man picked up one

also. She felt infuriated but

didn’t say anything. She just thought:

“What a nerve! If I was in the mood I would

punch his eye so that he does not forget this

daring!”

To each cookie she picked, the man picked one.

That infuriated her further but she did not react.

When only one cookie remained, she thought: “ah... Let me see...What this man will do now?”

Then, the man, divided the last cookie in the middle, giving her the half.

Ah! That was too much!

She was too angry!

Then, she caught her book and other belongings and headed straight to another place in the boarding

hall.

When she sat down in an armchair, inside the plane, she looked into her purse to catch her eyeglasses, and, to her surprise, her packet of cookies was there, untouched, closed!

She felt so much

ashamed!! She realized that she was

the wrong one...

She had forgotten that her cookies

were kept in the purse.

The man divided his cookies with her, without feeling infuriated, nervous or mad...

...while she was getting mad,

thinking that she was dividing her

cookies with him.

And there was no more time to

explain herself... Nor to

apologize!”

There are few things that we can’t recover...

The stone...

...after it is thrown!

The word... palavra...

...after it is pronounced!

The time...

...after it is gone!
