Under Clause 1.26 of the Standards for RTOs 2015, APEI ensures that where a training product on its scope of

registration is superseded, all learners’ training and assessment is completed and the relevant AQF certification

documentation is issued or learners are transferred into its replacement, within a period of one year from the date

the replacement training product was released on the National Register.

Mode of Delivery APEI uses face-to-face and online training delivery mode. APEI has developed a Moodle based online learning platform to assist students with their online study. The program can be adjusted to accommodate part-time attendance only for local students. Use of electronic technology, including the latest computerised language facilities have been integrated into the delivery of all Interpreting and Translating courses at APEI. APEI also has computer lab with latest technology to assist business and finance students. APEI will ensure that the products and processes used in delivering of the units reflect current industry trends and working environments.

Course Outcomes This qualification is designed to provide a flexible general purpose pathway in the financial services industry. After completing this qualifications, students may be suited but not limited to the following job roles:

Generalist financial services roles where a varied skill base is required.

Retail financial services officer in a small branch or organisation where the role is varied.

Retail or wholesale financial services administration staff (where a financial services qualification is better suited to address industry and compliance knowledge/skill training outcomes to support employee in the role).

Leading/supervising a team.

Performing duties of a first line supervisor.

Roles that involve working across a range of duties in the financial services sector where a specialist qualification is not the most suitable qualification to meet their training needs.

Individuals in these roles apply theoretical and technical knowledge and skills to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.

Entry Requirements and Selection Process

Although there are no formal prerequisites for entry to this qualification, to complete the course, students must have sufficient literacy and numeracy skills. To maximise the chance of learners successfully completing this qualification, APEI will identify any support individual learners need prior to their enrolment through a LLN test. If student fails to achieve the required score in their LLN test, additional tutorials will be arranged at the learner’s cost. This cost will be discussed before finalising any student’s enrolment and must be clarified in their pre-enrolment information. International Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and the recommended English language level is IELTS 5.5 score or equivalent. (If the level of English is insufficient, a suitable course may be arranged with another provider). English level score may be relaxed for students currently holding Diploma or upper level qualifications.

Entry Requirements and Selection Process

The entry requirement for this qualification is completion of the following units of competency, from the core of the Diploma in Financial Planning or their equivalent from a previous version of the FNS Training Package. These are: FNSASICZ503 Provide advice in financial planning FNSFPL501 Comply with financial planning practice ethical and operational

guidelines and regulations FNSFPL502 Conduct financial planning analysis and research FNSFPL503 Develop and prepare financial plan FNSFPL504 Implement financial plan FNSFPL505 Review financial plans and provide ongoing service FNSFPL506 Determine client requirements and expectations

FNSINC401 Apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry

The entry requirement can be met by evidence of equivalent competency to the above units through recognition of prior learning (RPL).

To maximise the chance of learners successfully completing this qualification, APEI will identify any support individual learners need prior to their enrolment through a LLN test. If student fails to achieve the required score in their LLN test, additional tutorials will be arranged at the learner’s cost. This cost will be discussed before finalising any student’s enrolment and must be clarified in their pre-enrolment information. International Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and the recommended English language level is IELTS 5.5 score or equivalent. (If the level of English is insufficient, a suitable course may be arranged with another provider). English level score may be relaxed for students currently holding Diploma or upper level qualifications. Target cohort for this qualification:

Students who have completed their study in Certificate IV in Financial Services and

want to continue their studies in the area of financial services.

Employees with roles that involve working across a range of duties in the financial

services sector where a specialist qualification is not the most suitable qualification

to meet their training needs.

Both domestic and international students who wish to acquire knowledge and skills to pursue employment in a range of financial services areas.
