The meaning of "COMPANDER" is Compressor-Expander.This microprocessor controlled audio Speech Processor works as amodulation Compressor in transmission and as a modulation Expander inreception. ESP provides a stronger and more clear and readable audiosignal. It is a great help in noisy areas and in case of long distancecommunication and weak signals. The efficiency of ESP is even higherwhen communicating with another radio having the same ESP system.
