News from the Carrillos serving in Queretaro,Mexico with June 30, 2018 Can anything good come from…Back of the Yards, Chicago/Cicero; San Jose el Alto, Queretaro, Mexico or Nazareth, Israel? This is a question people who know these places may ask. YES!!--by God’s power--good can come from these places. Jose grew up in Back of the Yards, Chicago and Cicero IL, crime infested neighborhoods. Gang violence, teen pregnancy and school dropouts were part of these communities. YET, God grabbed ahold of Jose’s life and brought him out of that influence! Now he has purpose--to lead others to be transformed, to have real life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jose continued in this purpose during a construction mission trip to San Jose el Alto, Queretaro, Mexico in 2013. During the trip, Jose invited Armando Chaparro to a church service with Nueva Vida Iglesia. Armando had been influenced by the environment of San Jose el Alto--with a sense of worthlessness, poverty and self-centeredness. He lived in fear. He worshiped Santa Muerte--who is an accepting ‘goddess’ of death, acclaimed to grant; vengeance, healing and prosperity. Armando’s work with the Mexican Mafia, drug dealing and personal addiction problems colored his life. Even the visual of his tattooed arms is obvious evidence of the dark influence over him. BUT since 2013, God also transformed Armando’s life . He now has led services and preached at Nueva Vida San José el Alto, Querétaro. Armando is now in the Nueva Vida leadership ‘pipeline’ to be the next pastor of Nueva Vida San Jose el Alto! Now, rather than being enslaved to cycles of poverty, Armando is working a job where he can honestly provide for his family and even give generously. God changed Armando’s evil worship to pure adoration for the Giver of Life--God Almighty! He is growing to trust God with his fears rather than handling them in his own way. God has transformed Armando to the point that he even traveled to Cuba to encourage Christians in another country! Before the trip, Armando felt unprepared or of no use as a pastor due to lack of formal seminary training. However during the trip, God spoke to Armando. God made it clear that he is a USEFUL instrument for Jesus Christ of Nazareth! About 2,000 Jose is with Eduardo Gonzalez from Casa Ammi and Cesar bringing in some donated things to our place

Psalm 34:8 says Taste and see that the Lord is good ..
The Lord is so GOOD... that HE allows us the privilege to participate in what HE is doing!! We know that the Lord is working here in our neighborhood--the squatters area of Las Margaritas. The Lord divinely connected us with Eduardo and Lucrecia Gonzalez from Casa Ammi Children’s Home. During a prayer vigil
several months ago Lucrecia Gonzalez said “...the Lord is doing something here…” What we feel the Lord is doing is setting us up to help participate in HIS work of transforming families of the Las Margaritas community by

reaching one person at a time with the saving power of Jesus Christ. Under this vision, we may start a children's daycare/after school/multi-purpose program here in our neighborhood. Due to the economic poverty level in this community, we hope to share the good news of Jesus Christ through providing services at a very low cost. The services we (and hopefully a team of other like-minded Christians) may provide are: homework help/tutoring, English classes, parenting classes, meals, medical education/care, Biblical teaching/mentoring, addictions counseling/rehab, financial education/microloans for starting self-sustaining businesses, discipleship/’adopt’ a youth and physical recreation/sports. The dream is to have a community center and a garden area for community use. It would be called Centros de Nueva Vida Las Margaritas, Querétaro, México, similar to New Life Centers of Chicago! Which is a non-for profit social service arm of New Life Community Church based in Chicago. This is a HUGE dream, with innumerable possibilities, details and costs. Please partner with us by lifting this up in prayer--for a team to serve, costs to be covered, wisdom to know how to begin, community members’ lives to be transformed but most importantly for GOD to be GLORIFIED thru it all!
JULY Chicago Mission Team coming to Queretaro, Mexico Please also join us in prayer for this year’s Chicago Mission team, scheduled July 13-23rd. They will again help with a Vacation Bible School (La Semilla) and local evangelism along with community service. This year, the team will be hosted in homes of Nueva Vida San Jose el Alto church members. The team will have opportunities to encourage and receive encouragement through exchanging life stories about how God has saved them. They will also spend time with our newest location, Nueva Vida La Capilla, Queretaro--which is led by Jean Paul & Jessica Uribe. In addition, the team will help create and run an obstacle course for kids at Pan de Vida Orphanage. Please pray for generous fund raising, safe smooth travel, deep spiritual growth for the team and Mexicans and lasting impact of changed perspectives and concrete steps of faith for the future due to this mission trip!
Carrillo TRIP to the USA!!! Due to the critical health and death of Joann’s father, she and Hanna were in Michigan June 18-30. Please pray for my family and I to honor the Lord as we grieve his death but celebrate his life.------------Besides the above trip we were already planning a visit to the USA!!!
