See page eight. Picture: Sportsfile Gardaí expose ATM scam in Cork city centre SUSPICIOUS devices have been found at four cash machines in Cork city centre. The plastic devices were taken from cash machines on Patrick Street and Bridge Street. Gardaí believe the devices were attached to the machines to trap ATM cards and to ensure their owners could not withdraw cash. It’s thought those behind the scam were watching customers getting their cards stuck before leaving the ATM thinking their card had been swallowed. However, those behind the scam typically go back to the machines and manage to take out the plastic device holding the card and the amount of cash requested. A TEENAGE boy, de- scribed as a fine young man in the making with a great work ethic, has died following a tragic farm ac- cident in Skibbereen. Rossa College second-year stu- dent Ciarán Casey died when he became trapped between a digger and a wall just after 6pm yester- day on the family farm at Church Cross near Skibbereen.
