MILLTAP 700

Optimized high-performance features for more production reliability.

The mechanically driven high-speed tool changer provides a tool change time of

0.9 seconds and chip-to-chip times of less than 1.5 seconds for efficient tool setup.

The complete magazine drive with 15 (optionally 25) pockets is integrated directly

into the spindle head.

The MILLTAP 700 features a dynamic tool changer and rapid

traverses of up to 2,362.2 ipm. in all linear axes for exceptional

workpiece machining. AC drives are located on the in-line main

spindle and in all linear axes to deliver the unparalleled perfor-

mance that is expected of a highly productive compact milling

machining center. The standard in-line spindle produces power

of up to Pmax = 33.5 hp. / P = 6.0 hp. 100% DC (optionally

available with 24,000 rpm. up to Pmax = 26.8 hp. / P = 5.4 hp.

100% DC). Wide guide clearances, sturdy power trains,

recirculating ball bearing guides and stable connections of

the bed and table components provide maximum precision,

even with high workloads.

Optimal chip flow and

easy chip removal

+ The horizontally-arranged linear

guide in the X-axis at two different

levels and bridge design ensure

free chip fall. Chip removal

during production is possible

with the wet machining option.

Reduced costs

+ Low investment and service

costs as well as reduced main-

tenance through the optimized

MILLTAP 700 design ensure

cost savings from the beginning.

This is particularly evident in

the fewer wear parts used,

especially on the axle cover

and tool changer.

1 Large travel paths

+ The machine design offers one of the largest work areas with

27.6 x 16.5 x 15.0 in. travel paths on an unbeatably small footprint.

2 Highly dynamic spindle

+ With max. 33.2 ft. / lbs. of torque, 10,000 rpm. (optional 24,000 rpm.)

and max. power of 33.5 hp., the MILLTAP 700 is in a class

by itself. The symmetrical spindle headstock provides optimal

rigidity and thermal stability.

+ NEW // Optional high-torque spindle featuring 10,000 rpm,

2,362.2 ipm. rapid traverse and linear guides size 35 provide

dynamic and precise travel paths as well as optimal contour

accuracy and fast production times.

4 Machining table and ergonomics

+ The stable triangular table construction and widely-spaced linear

guides enable the machining of workpieces up to 881.8 lbs. with

a variety of clamping options.

5 Chip flow and chip conveyor

+ The funnel-shaped bed and static cover of the X-axis offer efficient

chip fall and process reliability. The removable chip tray allows

for easy, clean chip removal, even during machining (with the

wet machining option). The MILLTAP 700 can also be equipped

with an optional chip conveyor.

6 Machine design
