2 Using a Circle Pad Pro
In order to conserve battery power,the Circle Pad Pro enters standbymode if it is not used for more thanfive minutes. Press the ZL or ZRButtons to end standby mode.
Connect the Nintendo 3DS XL/3DSCircle Pad Pro controller (soldseparately) by going to the Optionsmenu (page 4) and adjusting theCircle Pad Pro controller setting onthe first page to Use.
♦ For more detailed information on thesetup and use of the Circle Pad Pro,please refer to this accessory'sOperations Manual.
♦ Calibration of the Nintendo 3DSsystem's Circle Pad can be carried outby opening System Settings from theHOME Menu. Refer to the OperationsManual for more details.
❷ Follow the on-screen instructionsto calibrate the Right Circle Pad.
❶ Open the Options menu, and thenselect Calibrate Circle Pad Pro.

If the Right Circle Pad is notoperating correctly, or if it isinteracting with the software evenwhen not being used, follow theinstructions below to calibrate theaccessory.

3 About the Game
The Legend ofZelda™: Majora'sMask 3D is anaction-adventuregame that takesplace a fewmonths after theevents of The Legend of Zelda™:Ocarina of Time™ 3D. In it, we findour Hylian hero, Link™, on a questto locate a lost friend. Along theway he finds himself in the strangeworld of Termina, where rumor hasit the moon will come crashingdown in just three days' time! Thusbegins a new adventure!
4 Getting Started
Select a file to load, and thenselect Start to begin playing.
Loading a Saved Game
♦ If changing the Adjust Volumesetting to Higher results in sounddistortion, please return the settingto Normal.
Once you have selected a file toload, tap Options to adj ust thegame's settings. You can alsoaccess the Options menu duringgameplay from the Gear screen(page 9).

Use to choose a file, and thenpress to select it.
Select New Game, and enter aname for the main hero.

5 Saving and Erasing Game Data
Stand in front of astone statue,which will look likeeither an owl or aquill, and thenpress to save your progress.
Saving Data
♦ Note that returning to the Dawnof the First Day (page 6) will notautomatically save your game.
Erasing Data
Data can be lost due to useraction, such as repeatedlypowering off and on the system orremoving a Game Card or SD Cardwhile saving. Data loss may alsobe caused by poor connectivitydue to dirt or dust in the system'sports. Please be aware that inthese cases data cannot berestored.
Selecting a File to Erase
Choose a file from the file-selectionscreen (page 4), and then selectErase.
♦ Data cannot be restored oncedeleted, so please use caution.
Erasing All Data
You can delete all save data bylaunching the software and thensimultaneously holding + + + after the Nintendo 3DS logohas disappeared but before the titlescreen is displayed.
6 Progressing in the Game
In this game, you play as a heronamed Link. You have three daysto stop the moon from falling, andyou must repeat this three-daycycle multiple times in order toprogress through the adventure.
Flow of Time
Time flowscontinuously inthis game. When24 in-game hourshave passed, theday will end. During youradventure, you will need to play theSong of Time to return to the Dawnof the First Day.♦ Time will stop during
conversations and when you areaccessing subscreens, such asthe Bombers' Notebook orSelect Item Screen.
♦ When you return to the Dawn ofthe First Day, Rupees and someof the items you have collectedwill be lost. Dungeons andevents will also revert back totheir initial status.
Investigate theSheikah Stonein thebasement ofthe ClockTower to view hints that will aidyou in your adventure.
Stuck in your adventure?
If your life energy (page 9) runsout while in a dungeon, you willhave to restart from the entranceof that dungeon. If it runs outelsewhere, you will have to restartfrom the entry point of thatparticular map.
Game Over
The moon will fall, and you will bereturned to the Dawn of the FirstDay. Your inventory of items andmasks will revert to whatever theywere when you last played theSong of Time (items that cannot becarried through time will be lost).

Adjust perspective settings via theOptions screen (page 4).
Change View
Talk to Tatl
Press when theTatl icon appearsto talk to Tatl.She wil l give youvarious usefulhints to help you in your adventure.
Use Items / Put On Masks
Use items and put on masks bypressing or , or by tapping therelevant item slot (page 9) on theTouch Screen.
Action
Press to perform varioussituation-dependent actions.
Move/Jump/Swim
Tilt in any direction to move inthat direction. If you run towardthe edge of a platform or ledge,you will automatically jump in thedirection you are running.
When playing this game, you mayhave to move the Nintendo 3DSsystem around. Make sure youhave enough room before playing,and hold the system firmly withboth hands while playing. Do notmove the system with excessiveforce, as this could cause injuries,damage to the product, ordamage to nearby objects.
♦ When using a Circle Pad Pro(page 2), you can use the RightCircle Pad to look around.
Look Around
Tap the View / Pictograph Box icon(page 9) to switch to a first-personperspective. Use or move thesystem to look around. Press toreturn to a third-personperspective.
L-Targeting
When thetargeting iconappears over anenemy, character,or obj ect, pressand hold to lock on to it. Bytargeting an enemy, you can keep itin your sights as you fight it.

If you take hold of your sword with, you will be able to perform thefollowing actions:

This shows how much magic poweryou have left. It wil l be depletedevery time you use certain items oractions.
Magic meter
♦ The magic meter is onlydisplayed once you haveprogressed past a certain pointin your adventure.

The on-screen clock is divided intothree days. The current day ishighlighted. The clock is notdisplayed whenever time has beenstopped.
Clock
Tap this icon to play your ocarina(or whichever instrument is relevantto your current form). The numberof melodies you're able to play willincrease as you progress throughyour adventure. Tap to checkhow to play any of the melodiesyou've learned.
Ocarina of Time
Displays the action currentlyperformable using . This willchange depending on the situation.
Your currently assigned items and/or masks are displayed here. Itemsin the X and Y slots can be used byeither pressing the correspondingbutton or by tapping the item'sicon on the Touch Screen. Items inthe I and II slots can only be usedby tapping the corresponding iconon the Touch Screen.
