3.2) Brief Information of Your Institution:
The Nueva Vizcaya State University has two campuses. These are the
Bayombong Campus which is situated in a land area of 137.23 hectares and
Bambang Campus with a total land area of 10.55 hectares.
The University holds a distinction of a State Universities and Colleges (SUC)
Level IV status issued by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines
through Memorandum Order No.12, s. 2018. The University is now on its journey
toward ISO9001:2015 Certification for its Instruction, Research and Development
and Extension Programs. It has already passed its Stage 1 and Stage 2 External
Audits, and now waiting for the awarding of the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate.
Apart from academic lecture and laboratory facilities, the University is also
equipped with facilities which can be used for hands-on training on various fields,
research and development, training centers, health clinic, sports facilities and
other amenities for students’ development. Lodging and accommodation facilities
are also available for students and guests.
3.3) Strengths of programmes/academic faculties/courses offered at your
institution:
The academic program of the University has been triumphant in many
activities. Students who labored in their respective academic fields and co-
curricular activities have brought honor to University. High passing rates in
various licensure examinations were recorded. The continuous increase in the
enrolment has been prompting and motivating the university to enhance its
curricular programs, improve its facilities and develop fully its working resources.
The program of the University is gradually tailored to fit the requirements of
ASEAN standards through accreditation and quality assurance activities.

The University offers various curricular programs that will develop and train
manpower attuned to local, national and global requirements. Likewise, the
programs are aligned to set standards for tertiary education. Therefore, all the
curricular programs of the University had been revised and content noted by the
Commission on Higher Education.
3.3a) Strength of Programs:
College of Forestry
College of Forestry is one of the leading colleges of NVSU.
The BS Forestry program has given NVSU its Commission on Higher
Education (CHED) Center of Excellence in Forestry Education awards for
two periods, October 2009 to October 2012 (extended until the next call for
application) and January 2016 to December 2018, extended indefinitely.
MS Forestry is accredited by CHED for its K to 12 Transition Scholarship
Program. It is also accredited by the DOST‐Science and Technology Regional
Alliance of Universities for National Development (STRAND 2) together with
the PhD by Research Work.
In August 2017, the BS Forestry program was evaluated by the
Accrediting Agency of State Colleges and Universities in the Philippines
(AACCUP) for Level 4 Phase 1 accreditation. Out of 10 areas, 9 areas passed
except Area VII or Library. Such performance was remarkable and rare among
SUCs because of the stringent accreditation requirements for Level 4.
CF has produced three board exam topnotchers: Saldivar B. Asprit (1998),
Alhanney Jane T. Afidchao (2008) and Apriliza V. Sagadraca (2014). Other
placers in top ten examinees are: Julieta C. Santos (1992, 6th), Eliseo T.
Razalan (1995, 5th), Vernie A. Regasa (1996, 6th), Reneo B. Vicente (1998,
5th), June M. Lazaro (1999, 9th), Jeffry C. Mammuad (2006, 10th), Romnick L.
Pascua (2010, 4th), Eric D. Bimmoy (2010, 9th), John Albert P. Baltazar and
Roger G. Haboc, Jr. (2013, 8th), Verly Jhon D. de Vera (2014, 8th), Menzuela H.
Ancheta (2015, 6th), and Gerlyn B. Orpiano (2018, 2nd).
College of Agriculture
The College is presently accredited through National Agriculture and
Fisheries Education System- Commission on Higher Education (NAFES-
CHED) as Provincial Institute of Agriculture (PIA) and Provincial Institute of
Fisheries (PIF) holding the status since 2009. Currently, the College holds the
prestigious status of being a Center of Development in Agricultural issued
by the CHED.
The College has 31 regular faculty members, of which twenty (20) faculty
members are Ph.D. degree holders – eleven (11) of whom are Full Professors.
Four of the college degree programs bear their respective accreditation
status such as: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture – Level IV, Phase 2; Master
of Science in Agriculture- Level III, Phase 2; and Doctor of Philosophy in Rural
Development – Level II.

3.3b) Academic Faculty
As of November 30, 2019, there are a total of 370 faculty members in both
campuses. In terms of educational attainment, 26% are doctoral degree holders,
56% are master’s degree holders and only 18% are baccalaureate degree holders.
As to academic rank, eight percent (8%) occupy full professorial ranks, 22% are
associate professors, 22% are assistant professors and 48% are instructors.
Manpower capability of the University is continuously enhanced to ensure
the delivery of quality academic services. Faculty are required to pursue and
complete their advance education degree programs. As to date, a total of 46
faculty members from both campuses are pursuing their respective advance
education degree programs; 35 in Bayombong Campus and 11 in Bambang
Campus. They are all recipients of scholarship grants. Three are scholars in
foreign Universities. Five are scholars of the Department of Science and
Technology Scholarship Program, 28 of the Commission on Higher Education K-
12 and 27 are recipients of the University’s Faculty and Staff Development
Program.
Faculty members engage themselves in research activities that are supportive
