Reminder – objectives of the regional conferences
• Each Regional Commission holds a Conference every two years in one of the countries of the region
• The Conferences focus on technical items and on regional cooperation relating to animal health, animal welfare and animal food production safety issues in the region
• During the Conferences, elaboration of recommendations and reports

•The setting up of a ‘procedure’ to establish common regional positions among the Member Countries of the OIE Regional Commission for Europe during the process of adopting OIE standards
•The clarification by the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Standards Commission of the expression ‘emerging disease’ and the specific circumstances and procedures for notifying emerging diseases
