This tour is designed to introduce first time Rome visitors to the many

wonders of the Eternal City in a single day. You will be whisked to

the heart of Rome by your English speaking driver and private guide, who

will pick you up at your ship. You’ll visit the Colosseum, Pantheon, Ancient

Roman Forum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza

Navona and much more as you make the most of your tour of the Eternal

city. Your expert guide will focus on the most important landmarks of the

Ancient Forum that date from the various periods of Rome’s long great his-

tory to convey the history of Ancient Rome from its origins to the age of the

Roman Republic, and the glory days of the Roman Empire.

One of the highlights of our Rome in a Day Shore Excursions is a visit

to the magnificent Colosseum (Guaranteed no standing-in-line to en-

ter!). Relive the days of Ancient Rome as your expert guide recounts how the

inner-workings of the Colosseum enabled the Romans to provide special

effects to accompany the showmanship of the ferocious games held here.

As well as discussing the types of games held in the Colosseum and what

it meant for a Roman citizen to attend these games. After discussing Con-

stantine’s Arch and admiring views from the Palatine Hill, this Rome shore

excursion embarks on a very different tour to visit the imposing Pantheon

from Roman times. Fast forward 1700 years to see the magnificent fountains

by Bernini and the Spanish Steps.

In the afternoon, you will walk across the Angel Bridge to see the impos-

ing Castel Sant’ Angelo on your way to St. Peter’s Basilica where you will

admire the famed square designed by Bernini as well as the treasures inside

the Basilica. Last, but not least, your driver will take you to one of the famous

seven-hills of Rome for an aperitif and splendid views of the city before re-

turning to your cruise ship to complete your private Rome in a Day Tour.
