ABOUT THE CONFERENCE Bosna Bank International (BBI), in cooperation with its shareholders - the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dubai Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - and other international partners, organizes the annual International Business and Investment conference - Sarajevo Business forum (SBf).

SBf has been held annually since 2010. The conference is the most important business and investment event in Southeastern Europe.

Sarajevo Business forum connects international institutional and private investors and businesses with business and project owners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.

SBf is a platform for world-class networking and exploring investment and business opportunities in Southeast Europe; it was created to foster the region’s economic development.

WELCOME TO SARAJEVOA corridor between East and West!

Half a millennium ago in Bosnia, a town was founded, nestled in the valley below Mt. Trebevic. Its name was derived from either a palace in the fields or the fields around that palace. Bosnian Sanjak-Bey Isabeg Ishakovic erected that palace on the banks of the Miljacka River, built an iconic bridge and developed a bazaar.

Sarajevo has always been an intersection of important roads from Eastern to Western Europe and from the Mediterranean Basin to central Europe. for centuries, this city, in the

context of different historical events, has been both a shelter and a crossroads of cultures. It was connected to Istanbul, Zagreb, cetinje, Belgrade, Vienna, Budapest, and Jerusalem. These connections shaped Sarajevo into a place for the Orient and Occident to merge.

After its establishment in 1462, Sarajevo became the provincial seat of the Ottoman Empire for over four centuries. During the Austro-Hungarian occupation, it served as the monarchy’s seat of the Provincial Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It has been the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1945.
