How quickly do students grasp the material? If the subject is one in which there are significant differences in the speed with which the information/concept/procedure is learned, then enabling the student to control the speed of the lesson is useful. Online, fast learners can proceed through the material at a quick pace, while slower learners can proceed more slowly and also repeat parts of the lesson.6Predictable Questions?

If the topic is one that has very predictable student questions, it is well-suited to a online format. You can include the answers to those questions in your lecture or your explanation of a problem (like we often do in accounting). However, when student questions and issues are unpredictable, it's best to handle those topics in the f2f sessions or in a synchronous online session.8Student PresentationsStudents can make a presentation in an online synchronous class session

But why not use the face-to-face time for this activity if possible?

In the classes I've taken online, we have done group projects that were posted for all to see and critique. We've also done presentations during synchronous online sessions. My personal vote for a blended class is to have the students make presentations during a f2f session.7
