Replacement - 2010-Level and compacted runway for SPMT runway
-Center portion of the runway left open in order for movement of SPMT sunder the new bridge section, minimum 12 of clearance (left/right) for SPMT
movement
-Barnhart/Marino provided & utilized (2) 12line Goldhofer SPMTs with (16) 4shoring stools (8 on each trailer 2 high) and (2) 5 x 50 girders to transportbridge superstructure weighing 300ton from fabrication area (approximatetravel distance 140)
-Haul from lay down yard to final rest took approximately 4hrs (2hrs in pristineconditions) primarily because of the poor ground conditions due to the rain.Steel plates had to be placed as we were moving.

Connecticut DOT Hales Road - 2010
-Scope: Provide rigging solution for removal of existing trussbridge 60 x 25 x 93k and placement of eight precast decksections 60 x 4 x 2-3 x 68k each over Metro-North railroad
-The bridge is estimated to weigh 93k and measured 60L x25W. The project was complicated by the presence of poweredlines both above and below the bridge; standard means ofremoval were eliminated.
- A ~135 span of 5ft girder was assembled to remove thebridge. The girder configuration could not be set with a cranealone; instead the full length girder (144-2) was cantileveredapproximately 80 off of a 6-line SPMT and driven across thebridge. The girder configuration was counterbalanced withcounterweight at the opposite end.

Barnhart was selected by a joint-venture between Florida DOT andGilbert Sourthern to quicklyrespond to this event to reconstruct
the bridge and return its nearly42,000 vehicle commuters back tonormal life.
