rsSounds and colors
Sounds and colors have always represented the threads that united the Arts over the ages. They are part of that connective bond that everyone could find in churches, palaces, villas, and gardens, both houses, and streets all over the world. They let us focus on the inside using a mysterious language that we innately understand.
But how do colors narrate a story? What are the sounds of color? For whatever reason or explanation we may come up with, a different version of the truth will exist for each of us. This art show lets you decide what is important. The living memory of emotions that may lie within each of us resides under the thinnest of paint, yet it could also unexpectedly evoke powerful scenarios and gripping sensations. Come and experience for yourself the growth path of artists with excelling artistic potential. We welcome different artists and styles for the sheer enjoyment of our delightful visitors.

Curator’s Note
What is creativity? Why do people start to draw, compose music or write poetry? At all times there was a need for something beautiful. Each person is his own world, his own universe, with his thoughts, feelings, fears. When people try to share part of their world, this is probably creativity. It is extremely difficult, or perhaps impossible, to insert someone else’s thoughts or someone else’s perception of the world into a certain framework, and even more so give an assessment to this. We are glad that the participants of our competition shared their creativity, and we really hope that each work will find its fans.

Gallery’s Note
The Third Juried Exhibition “Sounds of Colors” has come to the end. We received many applications from 11 countries all around the world. The artists from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas decided to join our contest. For the 2 weeks of the exhibition, almost two thousand unique visitors stopped by the exhibition page on our site. Hundreds voted for the artworks they liked and helped us to choose the Popular Vote Award.
We were honored to have the great artist, master of watercolor from Moscow, Igor Dubovoy, as a curator of this exhibition. Igor took his own approach while creating this exhibition. He concentrated on a series of works.
Like the chords in music when a number of notes sound together, series in the art are a number of works that may need to be seen as a group making sounds of colors. Like in music, some of the artworks in a series “sounds” in consonance with each other and some in a dissonance.
As almost always, it was very hard to select the winners. We liked all the selected artworks. Many works we liked didn’t get to the exhibition because of the 20 work limit we have. After long debates and arguments —
Our Gallery is happy to announce the award winners of this exhibition.
Grand Prix — “Time and Space” by Danielle Coelho (Spain)
Curator’s Award — “Warsaw” by Aleksandra Ciazynska (Poland)
Popular Vote Award — “Sea Rock Waves” by Galina Vindalovskaia (Moldova)
Congratulations to the winners! Our goal was to encourage more artists of any levels to continue their hard work. We hope you enjoyed the show.
