14 Reasons Why I Love You Valentines Day Card Project

Directions for this Valentines Day Card Project

To put together this Valentines Day card you will need glue and scissors. This first thing you will do is to put together the accordion booklet that the 14

valentines will be glued into. You can copy the booklet pages onto colored paper, using a different color paper for each page or the same color for each page. Or if your child

loves to color and decorate have them color and decorate the pages instead.So, go ahead and get the pages of the accordion booklet and cut them out.

They will look like this:

Using glue, put glue on this tab. Then glue the tab you just putglue on to the back of the next page so it looks like this:

Do this until the page with the number 14 is glued on.The booklet will be quite long at this point. Next you will glue on

the inside back cover and the back cover onto the tab of the page with the number 14.Like this:

Now glue the back cover onto the back of the back inside cover.

Now with the accordion booklet all glued together, let dry completely.When completely dry, you will now fold the accordion booklet like an accordion.

Keep folding your booklet like an accordion until it is completely folded.

Glue this back cover onto the back of the inside back cover.

When booklet is completely dry you can color and decorate the front, back and inside back covers and the other pages as you do them if you have not printed them on

colored paper. Go ahead and write who this card is to and who it is from on the blanks as well.

Now that the booklet base is complete you can now start putting togetherthe valentines. One will go on each page on the booklet. Like this:

Do this for all fourteen valentines. When complete. Fold up andtie a pretty ribbon around your booklet and give to some one you love on

Valentines Day!

Directions for the above pocket heart. Color and decorate as desired. Cut out the heart with tabs. Fold back the tabs and put glue on the tabs. Glue the heart pocket onto the “one” page in the booklet. While pocket is

drying, cut out the blank heart and write on the heart why you love the person you are giving this to and decorate if desired. When pocket is dry insert heart that you wrote on into pocket.

Directions for the double ribbon heart. Cut out the “I love you because...” heart and hole punch. Color and decorate as

desired. Next, cut out the blank heart and hole punch. Write on the blank heart why you love the person you are giving this to and

decorate it if desired. Next, take a piece of ribbon and thread it through the hole on the bottom of the top heart and thread it through the

hole in the top of the bottom heart and tie in a bow. Now apply glue to the back of the top heart only and glue it onto the “two” page in the

booklet. Do not apply glue to the bottom heart. It is suppose to hang freely.

Directions for the triangle pocket heart. Cut out the largest heart. Color and decorate as desired. Next, cut out the triangle pocket and color

and decorate as desired. Take the triangle pocket and place it on top of the largest heart that you just cut out. Fold tabs back on triangle pocket and glue them to the back of the large heart. Let

dry. Next, cut out the small “I love you because...” heart and color and decorate as desired and glue it to the front of the triangle pocket. Now take the large heart that you glued the triangle

pocket and small heart to and glue it onto the “three” page in the booklet. Lastly, cut out the blank heart. Write on the heart why

you love the person you are giving this to and decorate it if desired.Insert the heart that you have written on into the triangle heart

pocket once it is completely dry.

Directions for the above springing heart. Cut out the large heart and color or decorate as desired. Next cut out strip on the right and color it and

on each line fold like an accordion. Tape one end of the accordion strip to the middle of the large heart. Next, cut out the smaller heart and write on the heart why you love the person you are

giving this to and decorate it if desired. Next, take another piece of tape and tape the other end of the accordion strip to the back side of the heart you just wrote on.

Now go ahead and take completed springing heart and glue it onto the “four” page of your booklet.

Directions for the above stacked triple heart. Cut out the large heart and color or decorate as desired. Next, cut out the medium heart and color

or decorate as desired and glue the medium heart onto the middle of the large heart.Next, cut out the smallest heart and write on the heart why you love the person you are

giving this to and decorate it if desired. Now glue the smallest heart on top of the medium heart. Now glue your stacked triple heart onto the “five” page of the booklet.

Directions for the string of hearts.Cut out the strip on the left and color and decorate

it as desired. Glue it onto the“six” page of your booklet. Next, cut out the first two hearts and color

and decorate as desired. Set aside. Next, cut out the third blank heart and write on the heart why you love

the person you are giving this to and decorate it if desired. Now take all three hearts and arrange them

on the strip you glued into your booklet alreadyto make sure they fit just right. When they are

placed where you would like them glue them into place.

Directions for the above folded heart booklet. Cut out the heart and fold in half. Color or decorate as desired. Inside the heart write why you love the person you are

giving this to. Because the heart is large you may also be able to draw a picture or put a small photograph inside the heart also. When complete glue your heart booklet onto “seven” page of the

booklet.

Note: Do not decorate the back side of the square

of the envelope because itwill be glued down.

Directions for the above heart and envelope booklet. Cut out the above envelope. Next, fold overthe top and bottom flaps so that they cover the square in the middle then fold the

two side triangle flaps over them. Color and decorate the envelope as desired. Next, cut out the blank heart above. On the blank heart write why you love the person you are giving this to and decorate if desired. Set aside.

Next, open up the envelope you have decorated. Glue the heart that you wrote on onto the square in the middle ofthe envelope. Let dry. Next, cut out the small heart that says “I love you because...” and color and

decorate it. Next, after the heart that you glued inside the envelope is dry close the flaps again and take the smallest heart and put one tiny drop of glue on it and glue it on the middle of

the envelope flaps so it glues the envelope shut. Let dry. When dry glue it onto the “eight” page of your booklet.Whoever, gets your card will open the envelope by lifting off the heart and reading the larger heart inside.

Directions for the above heart accordion booklet. Cut out above booklet and color and decoratethe first two hearts. On the third blank heart write why you love the person you are giving this to.

Color if desired. Next, fold the booklet like an accordion and glue onto the “nine” page of your booklet.

Directions for the above sewing heart. Cut out heart. Write on heart why you love the person you are giving this to. Color and decorate. Next, punch holes in the heart where indicated. Using a piece of yarn, ribbon

or shoelace, lace through the holes and when done tie the two ends in a bow.Glue onto the “ten” page of your booklet.

Directions for the square envelope heart.Cut out envelope on the left and

fold it in half. Fold tabs back and glue. Let dry.When dry fold the “I love you because” flap down.Now, color and decorate the envelope as desired.

When envelope is complete glue it onto the “eleven” pageof your booklet. Let dry. Next, cut out the blank

heart and write on the heart why you love the person you are giving this to. Color and decorate if desired.

When complete, insert the heart into envelope you have already glued into your booklet.

Directions for spinning disk heart. Cut out the circle with the four hearts on it.

On one of the hearts write why you love the person you are giving this to. On the other three hearts

you can write whatever you would like or just colorand decorate the other three hearts. Set aside.

Next, color and decorate the “I love you because...” wheel. With your mom or dad's help take an exact-o knife and

cut out the heart on the second wheel. Cut out the second wheel. Next, hole punch center of each wheel. Secure with

brad and glue onto the “twelve” page of your booklet.

Directions for the hanging heart.Cut out large heart. With your mom or dad's help take an exact-o

knife and cut out the middle of the heart on the dotted line.Color and decorate the heart. Next, cut out the small heart

and write why you love the person you are giving this to.Color and decorate the heart. Next hole punch both hearts.Now take a piece of ribbon and thread it through the hole of each heart and tie in a bow. Next apply glue to the large

heart only and glue onto the “thirteen” page of your booklet.Do not apply glue to the small heart it is suppose to hang free.

<< Fold this flap down.Glue picture to the inside

of the flap so it shows through the window.

Directions for the above picture booklet. Cut out booklet. With your mom or dad's help take an exact-o knife and cut out the middle of the square. Fold top flap down so it shows behind the window you cut out. This flap is where you will glue your picture.

Take a picture of yourself or make a copy of a picture and cut it to fit, so it shows through the square and glue it in place. Let dry. When dry, glue window down to the top of the picture so the picture shows

through the window. Let dry. While that is drying cut out heart and color and decorate it and set it aside.When everything is dry, fold flap on the left over so it covers the picture. Open the flap back up and

write why you love the person you are giving this to. Then color or decorate around the frame of your picture.Fold flap back over picture and color and decorate the outside of the flap. Glue heart that you decorated

already and glue it to the front of the flap. Let dry. When dry. Glue into onto the fourteen page of your booklet.
