Have 12 gates that are 12 pearls; each one of the gates is a single pearl, and a street of pure gold “And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.” (Revelation 21:21) E. JUST THINK! “For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; 20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” (Hebrews 6:16-20) “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Ro. 8:17 ) 1. Every promise He has given is “trustworthy and TRUE!” 2. God wanted to make His nature and PURPOSE clear to each of us. 3. God’s Word is always TRUTH! 4. This hope is an ANCHOR and holds our soul firm! 5. Only Jesus could make this ACCESS possible for us. 6. He became our HIGH priest! 7. He invites us to be CO-HEIRS with Christ! “A FOREVER PLACE” Part 2 Revelation 21:1a

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:” (Revelation 21:1a)

A. A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH ARE FORMED, THEN A NEW JERUSALEM APPEARS v. 2

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,” (Revelation 21:2a) 1. The only eternal ___________will appear! v. 2 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (Revelation 21:2) 2. This new city will be the ___________ of Heaven! v. 2a

“the holy city,” (Revelation 21:2a)

3. A dwelling place for all those who have trusted Christ by

10. Have 12 gates that are 12 pearls; each one of the gates is a single pearl, and a street of pure gold

“And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.” (Revelation 21:21)

E. JUST THINK!

1. Jesus will wipe away every _________from our eyes

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;” (Rev. 21:4a)

2. All the reasons for tears will be ___________

“and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:” (Revelation 21:4b)

3. God reassures us once again of His ______________ character and His eternal power and majesty!

“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 21:6)

4. In spite of His incredible, awesome ______________, He still personally invites us into that eternal relationship with Him!

“I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:6b-7)

C. IN SPITE OF THE GLORY OF GOD...THERE IS ALWAYS THE REMINDER THAT THE SACRIFICE OF CHRIST AND THE RECEIVERS OF HIS GRACE ARE THE ONLY ENTRANTS INTO THIS GLORY

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

1. The _____________of eternal choices will come to all

2. The second _____________ will be a reality for those who have not been overcomers v. 8

3. It is impossible for God to ___________ His promises without the realization of those who will not share in those promises 4. Although God is helping us to see eternal consequences,

he is still offering the _____________ of life...Jesus!

“I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” (Revelation 21:6b) D. THE HOLY CITY WILL… v. 10b

“And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and he shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,” (Revelation 21:10)

1. Have a brilliance like a very costly stone as clear as jasper v. 11 (The Glory of the City)

“Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;” (Revelation 21:11)

2. Have a great and high wall, with 12 gates guarded by an angel at each one v. 12a (Perfect Security)

“And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:” (Revelation 21:12) 3. The names of the 12 tribes of Israel will appear on the gates v. 12c

“and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:” (Revelation 21:12c) 4. Three gates on each of the four sides of the city v. 13

“On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.” (Revelation 21:13)

5. Walls of the city with 12 foundation stones, and on them are the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb v. 14

“And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” (Revelation 21:14)

6. A cube measuring 1500 miles wide, 1500 miles long, and 1500 miles high vv. 16-17

“And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.” (Rev.21:16-17)

7. A wall is made out of jasper v. 18a

“And the building of the wall of it was of jasper:” (Revelation 21:18a)

8. Be pure gold, like clear glass v. 18b

“and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.” (Rev. 21:18b)

9. Have foundation stones of the city wall that are made from the following precious stones… vv. 19-20

“And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.” (Rev. 21:19-20)
