Khazar University Scholarship Program for Intemational Students

I. General Principles Khazar University is the first private University in the South Caucasus that started implementing intemational education programs with English langtiage as a medium of instruction. Pursuant to its policy and service commitments the University is proud to announce a Khazar University International Scholarship Program for 2014-2015 (further referred as KUISP) extended to nationals of ail coimtries without any limitation.

The guiding principles ofthe program are as follows.

Ail foreign Citizens are eligible for the Khazar University Scholarship Program further referred to as KUISP. KUISP is available for potential students of ail four schools of the University.

- As the School of Education conducts its courses in the Azerbaijani language, the scholarships for enrollment in that school are designated for ^pUcants with sufficient Azerbaijani-Turkish language sküls (native Azerbaijani speakers who are Citizens of foreign coimtries; Citizens of Turkey and Iran). Apphcants to bachelor, master and PhD programs are eligible to apply for KUISP. Every year two scholarships, each covering the cost of the füll tuition fee, will be awarded to Citizens of each country who apply to Khazar University programs. The scholarship is provided for one year subject to prolongation based on the académie performance of the grantee. The scholarship covers the cost of the tuition fee for the whole program term, but does not cover living and travel expenses. Khazar University conducts évaluation and the sélection of submitted apphcations via document Screening and skype interviews with shortlisted applicants. The detaüs and the time fi"ame of the sélection are specified in the KUISP time schedule (Section n below).

II. The time schedule of application and sélection KUISP is implemented according to an annually developed and approved implementation plan. Implementation activities, the time scheme and implementing bodies are specified in the table below:

Evaluation and sélection

Mid-June The Sélection Committee established by the University will consider and décide about scholarship awards facihtated by the designated Intemational office staff. Skype calls may be arranged with shortlisted applicants.

IV. Eligibility criteria

The successfui apphcants should meet ùe followàng criteria

Have good académie performance records of the previous education stage (high school, bachelor or master programs) Good Enghsh skills: provide TOEFL, lELTS certificates. Holders of Intemational Baccalaureate degree certificates (from Intemational Baccalaureate Organization, www.ibo.org), or diplomas from a high school with Enghsh as a major medium of instmction do not need a language skill justification document. 1. Clearly type or print (in ink) ail the requested information in English. AU dociunents issued in another language must be translated into English by either an officiai translation service or your university/coUege

2. Ail sections ofthe application form must be completed. The form must be sent to Khazar University Admissions Office with al! the documents required by the University. Attachments should clearly indicate the applicant's name, contact address and the school applied to.

3. Your application should be accompanied by two letters of référence written by people who can evaluate yotir académie abilities and suitability for the program of study you are intending to pursue.

4. Applicants who wish to apply to more than one school or program ofthe University must submit a corresponding nimiber of copies of this application form, together with ail the accompanying documents.

5. Applications must be either sent by post, delivered in person or faxed to the University not later than the deadline. Applications may also be tumed in by email (along with scanned copies of ail required documents), but then the applicant should follow up the email by sending copies of ail required docimients by post.

Tuition

Khazar University reserves the right to change the tuition fees from year to year. The annual

tuition fee for ail programs is AZN 5000. The tuition does not include accommodation or

living expenses.

Before starting his/her studies at Khazar University, an international student must pay at least one y ear's tuition fee.

After paying the tuition fee, in the case that the student décides to use Khazar University as a bridge to leave for another country or to change for another university, then the paid tuition fee will not be refunded.

Scholarship Khazar University provides two scholarships for students of every country (Khazar University International Scholarship Program: KUISP). The scholarship covers the total amount of the tuition fee for the whole program of study at the University in either undergraduate or graduate studies.
