Answers:

All of the above statements about the magnificent Conference Center are true!

Scripture Message Margaret Shauers, “Scripture Message,” Friend, Mar. 1987, 26

To discover the scripture message, write the letter of the alphabet that comes before each letter under the blanks.

__ __    __ __    __ __ __ __    __ __,    __ __ __ __    __ __    __ __ __ __ __ __ J   G   Z   F     M   P  W   F     N   F      L   F   F  Q     N   Z     D   P  N  N  B  O   __ __ __ __ __. E  N   F  O  U  T

To help you listen to the conference messages, do this activity with your family. Give each member a copy of the playing card and a marker for each square. Whoever has put down the most markers by the end of each conference session is the winner.

Alternate version: Instead of making individual playing cards, have the whole family play on one game board, with different-colored markers for each person. When one of the words is mentioned, the first person to put a marker on it wins the spot. Whoever has put down the most markers by the end of the conference session is the winner.

In each session of conference, listen to the talk given by a member of the First Presidency. In the left area of the work sheet, fill in the blanks with his name and what you have learned from him, then draw a picture of it. In the right area, fill in the blank with what you will do to follow his counsel, and draw a picture of that.

Write a few notes about what these men talk about and something you will try to do better.

Keyword MazeSusan Curtis, “Keyword Maze,” Friend, Apr. 1995, 23

Do you know the keywords/phrases to the Articles of Faith? If so, they will easily lead you through this maze. If you don’t know them, start at the arrow and find the path that leads into a star. Place a “1” in that star. Now find the path out of that star and into a second star. Place a “2” in it. Continue in this manner until you reach the thirteenth star.

Tabernacle Pairs “Tabernacle Pairs,” Friend, July 1994, 14

The Salt Lake Tabernacle is recognized by most Church members. It is the home of the Tabernacle Choir, which is recognized all over the world for its beautiful music. To learn the name of two of the songs for which the Choir is famous, cross out every pair of letters that are exactly the same (in size, thickness, and style). Then read the remaining letters from left to right to learn the name of the songs.

Presidents of the Church MazeTerri Adams, “Presidents of the Church Maze,” Friend, Mar. 2001, 26

To find and learn the names of the past Presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in order, start with Joseph Smith and follow the unblocked path to the second Church President. Then go back to where you came out and follow the unblocked path to the third president. Keep doing this until you reach President Gordon B. Hinckley at the top of the steeple. Note: the paths to the Presidents never cross over each other. Do you know who our Prophet today is? ____________________?

A tells a story about a family and often includes a motto, or rule, the family tries to live by. In some countries, coats of arms have been used for centuries. Write your name in the banner at the bottom of the shield. In one section of the shield, draw a picture of your country’s flag. In another section, draw a

picture of something that represents your family. In another section draw something that illustrates one of God’s laws. In the last section, draw something that represents you (a picture of yourself; a soccer ball; a musical instrument; your favorite color, animal, book, or place; your house). Think of a motto and write it in the banner at the top of the shield. You may choose from this list or think of another one: “I Am a Child of God,” “Love One

Another,” “I Will Follow Jesus,” “I Love Truth,” “Choose the Right.”

Kitchen Krafts

“Kitchen Krafts,” Friend, Apr 2001, 27

If your family stays home to watch general conference on television, a parent or older person could help you make this special family breakfast to eat before conference begins. If you go to a stake center to watch conference, your family might enjoy these recipes as a breakfast-for-dinner when you return home. The “General Conference Snack Mix” would also make a great family home evening treat!
