GENERAL INFORMATION Variants:

Hydraulic cylinders produced by HYDROSTER can be divided into two groups: 1. Standard cylinders – piston type, double action, self-aligning mounting (CJ2N) or

flange mounting (CJ5N) cylinders with one side piston rod. 2. Special design cylinders – modification of catalogue cylinders or any other special

construction cylinders (plunger type, telescopic type, with built in locking mechanism, with position sensor, mounted on the bolts, made of special materials, etc.).

Hydraulic cylinders presented in this catalogue CJ2N type and CJ5N with new lugs MKN represent a new generation of product. With a simplified design, modern systems of seals and bearings while maintaining overall dimensions they represent following features:

• full installation interchangeability with previous version of cylinders, • lower maintenance and repair costs, • longer life, • greater reliability.

Dimensions: Dimensions of standard cylinders are strictly specified in this catalogue card. Special versions of cylinders are designed in terms of individual needs and Client requirements – technical details are agreed with the Customer before starting production.

Nominal pressures: Catalogue cylinders are designed for nominal pressure 25 MPa. In case of the contract for cylinders which stroke is greater than specified in the catalogue card as maximum (Hmax), may be necessary to reduce nominal work pressure.

Bearings: Catalogue cylinders are equipped with ball bearings. In special design cylinders there is a possibility to apply bearings or ball inserts made of bronze or orkot.

Hydraulic sockets: Catalogue implementation of hydraulic cylinders provides sockets according to PN-EN ISO 9974-1:2002. The size of the sockets or applied standards can be modified at the stage of order. Special design cylinders can be equipped with any sockets according to Customer request. Coatings: Catalogue card provides piston coverage of technical chrome (single or double layer) and ceramic coat. The same coatings are reserved for special design cylinders, which can have additionally chrome coatings at the internal surface of cylinder.

Painting: Hydraulic cylinders of our production have 0,05 mm epoxy primer standard painting, colour RAL 7001. There is also a possibility to apply multi-paint system according to Customer request.

Seals: In our cylinders we only use seals from renowned manufacturers, such as: Merkel, Busak+Shamban, Hallite. We can also use seals from any other manufacturer according to Customer request.

Working medium: The standard working medium are hydraulic oils L-HL according to PN-C-96057-04:1991, HL according to DIN 51524 teil 1 and HL according to ISO 6743/4. We make special design constructions adapted to work with other agents for example: water, fluids type HFA, HFB, HFC and others.

Ambient temperature: Standard cylinders are designed to operate in ambient temperatures from -25 to +80 º C. In special design cylinders this range can be extended by the exchange of seals or other modifications.

Quality control: Before shipment to the Customer all hydraulic cylinders are pressure and motor tested. Inspections are carried out by our Quality Control Department and based on ISO 9001 procedures. On request cylinders are supplied with certificates of receipt of Classification Societies or other regulatory authorities. Interchangeability: Hydraulic cylinders CJ2N and CJ5N are substitutes for CJ2 and CJ5 cylinders, which have been withdrawn from production and are no longer available. (According to the notes under the dimensional table for new cylinders). However the Purchaser should indicate willingness to use new version of cylinders in place where previous version was installed. It is necessary to adjust suctions and in some cases the diameters of the pins.

HYDROSTER ensures the guarantee and after guarantee service as well as a delivery of spare parts during the whole hydraulic cylinder exploitation period.

1. DESIGN

Hydraulic cylinders CJ2 are replaced by CJ2N. New cylinders (CJ2N) are fully compatible with the old version (CJ2). Hydraulic cylinder CJ2N is piston type, double action, self-aligning mounting with one side piston rod cylinder. Cylinder type CJ2N is designed to operate in hydraulic systems onboard ships and on land.

3. Execution

Hydraulic cylinder (type CJ2N) is executed acc. to the drawing on page 3 in accordance with dimensions given in the dimensions table, in four types of cushioning:

- One side cushioning not adjustable from the side without piston rod (designation “a”) - One side cushioning not adjustable from piston rod side (designation “b”) - Two side cushioning not adjustable (designation “c”)

- Without cushioning (designation “g”).

Piston rod of hydraulic cylinder is executed: - structural steel rod covered by a double hard chromium coat /Cr -Cr / Cr = 0,04 mm + Cr = 0,04 mm / (without designation), - structural steel rod covered by a single hard chromium coat / Cr = 0,04 mm / (designation A), - stainless steel rod covered by a single hard chromium coat / Cr = 0,04 mm / (designation B), - structural steel rod covered by ceramic coat (designation C).

In an order of hydraulic cylinder there should be given: - the name: Hydraulic Cylinder - the denomination acc. to 4 - no. of catalogue card KKA-1900/04.09

The example: HYDRAULIC CYLINDER CJ2Nw140/100 X 1400-g I A acc. to KKA-1900/04.09 The hydraulic cylinder CJ2 double action type and alignment mounting with one side piston rod and inner thread "w" in it, piston diameter D=140 [mm],piston rod diameter d=100 [mm], stroke H=1400 [mm], without cushioning "g", with location of holes "I", with piston rod covered by chromium coat "Cr".

Lug type MK is designed as installation holders for hydraulic cylinder CJ2N and CJ5N.

1. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION

The cylinder with an internal locking mechanism works as a normal cylinder. The difference is when piston rod is in maximum extension position, then the rod is automatically locked by internal locking devices. Cylinder is protected against rod self position change (even in the event of an external force, or break the power supply pipe). To release the locking mechanism and set in motion return movement of piston rod is needed to supply oil under pressure from the rod site.

2. DESIGN

Hydraulic cylinder with the internal locking mechanism is a piston type, double action, self-aligning mounting with one side piston rod cylinder. These kind of cylinders are designed to operate in hydraulic systems, where it is necessary to do the mechanical locking of piston rod in fully extension position.
