Office of Aviation Planning Relationships
• Coordination is routine between Aeronautics and: CT Districts, RTPAs, ALUCs, States, FAA on aviation issues.– Districts: DSMP, TCRs, ITIP– Local: CLUP and General Plan review
• Early awareness and proactive coordination is the key to good planning!
• Coordinating to prevent/minimize adverse impacts is our goal

• Counter program - We continue to upgrade our acoustic counters; available for airport sponsor use. Use them to get traffic counts for forecasts in your master plans.
• ALUC issues - 2 planners dedicated (Northern and Southern CA).
• 2-year Legislative Session - almost over. Only AB 2650 (Monterey) passed. AB 2501 called for extensive monitoring of the air around Santa Monica Airport - Failed. Look for a new aviation related bills to show up starting Dec. 4, the start of the next session, 2007-2008.
• California Transportation Commission's Annual Report - Planning is creating an Aviation Report to be included. Aviation “wish list” to include many projects and studies to benefit the State's aviation community.
• Airport Master Plans - We continue to review and comment and on individual land use issues that occur nearby CA airports.
