WelcomeOn behalf of the RaboDirect Rebels, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all here tonight to our 3rd Annual Gala Ball – England Calling proudly presented by VisitEngland.

Appropriately, England Calling reminds us all that the 2015 Rugby World Cup is just around the corner and thanks to our fantastic Events Partner, VisitEngland, you and three friends can be there in person to witness the Wallabies live in their quest to return the Rugby World Cup to Australian soil.

I would encourage all of you to sit back, relax and enjoy every moment of tonight as we take you on a very “English” journey and highlight for you some of the fantastic places that this magnificent Country has to offer. On behalf of everyone at the Rebels, I would like to thank VisitEngland for choosing us to tell their story in 2014.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our Principal Partner, RaboDirect for their ongoing support of our Club. Without their assistance, and indeed the assistance of all our sponsors, corporates and members we would simply not be able to sustain a professional Rugby team in Victoria.

I would like to make a special mention of the wonderful work performed by the Fred Hollows Foundation and hope you are all able to support the work of the Foundation by contributing via the forms on your table. $25 can save the eyesight of one child.
