PRAYER REQUESTS AND NOTICES 19 Sep 2021

1. GPC 2021 Theme: Love & Mission! 2. Guest Speaker: We extend a warm welcome and our thanks to our guest speaker Pr. Esther Tan, Singapore Director of Gospel Operation for Chinese Christians, as she shares God’s Word with us this morning.

3. Tuesday Prayer Meeting Our weekly Tuesday prayer meeting at 8pm will be conducted via Zoom. This week Rev. Andy Tan will be in-charge of the prayer to pray for Discipleship Training . We hope to have more prayer warriors join us from your individual homes!

4. Worship arrangement With effect from 29 August 2021, with the government relaxation of Covid control measures, we will be able to accommodate up to 250 congregants, but only for fully vaccinated after 14 days congregants. In order to come for worship in the church, congregants are encouraged to be

fully vaccinated. Those who intend to come for service in church must register with Pr Erlina (9459 7838), on Tuesday or Wednesday 10am-4pm, for up to 100 members. The other 150 members can register online, registration will be closed once vacancies are filled.

5. ECM 2021 (Supplementary Announcement)

We had conducted an Extraordinary Congregational Meeting (ECM) on 5 September 2021 at 12.15pm, for the following matters:

1) Amendment of the Constitution to provide that the Treasurer and the Assistant Treasurer shall retire for a minimum of two terms (instead ofone term) after serving for two consecutive terms, as suggested by the Registrar of Societies. Result: Pursuant to Article 12.2 (read with Article 5.7.2) of the Constitution, the quorum for any proposed amendment to the Constitution is two-thirds (2/3) of the active Communicant Members. The requisite quorum was therefore 348. However, the attendees of the ECM was only 337 and did not constitute at least two-thirds (2/3) of the active Communicant Members. Consequently, the quorum was not met and this resolution was not passed.

The Chinese Service will convene another ECM on 28/11/2021 to vote on the above resolution. Pursuant to our Constitution, we will require 2/3 of our Active Communicant Members to take part in order to meet the requisite quorum. We ask all members to actively participate in the ECM and to keep this in your prayers.

6. Kok Hu Bursary (for Kindergarten to University students) The application period for this year’s Kok Hu Bursuary is fro m 5 September to 17 October 2021. Application forms may be obtained from the Chinese Service Office (between 10:00am-5:00pm). Church members with a Total Gross Household Monthly Income below S$4,800/- or a household Monthly Income Per Person below S$1,200/- are welcome to apply. Worshippers who are not yet church members but have actively served in the church for at least 2 years may apply too. (Such applications will need to be recommended by the Pastoral Team, Elders or Deacons and is subject to EDC’s final approval). Closing Date: 17 October 2021.

7.2022 Budget

We invite all department and fellowship committees to submit your 2022 budget forecast to the Finance Department or email to the Chinese Service Office (office@glorypc.org) by 30 September 2021.

8.Committee Members Name List of 2022 We ask all heads and ICs of the various departments and fellowships to email your Committee Members Name List for 2022 to the Chinese Office @ office@glorypc.org by 03 October 2021.

9. Resumption of Youth Bible School Our Youth Bible School has resumed physical classes from 5 September 2021. Time: 9.30am - 11am, Venue: Music Room 1. We ask all parents to encourage your youths to attend. If you have any enquiries, please contact Rev Andy Tan, Dn Edmund Chew, or Dn Sophia Lim. Please keep the Youth Bible School in your prayers as we resume activities.

10. Condolences: a. Bro. Zhang Ming Guang (Brother of Dn. Chong Liang Sin)

was called home to be with the Lord in China on 12 September 2021, aged 78. May the abiding peace of our Almighty Lord be the

comfort of the bereaved family. b. Sister Heng Siow Yong (Mother of Sis. Tian Shu Zhen, Grandmother

of Dn. Lim Wan Jie) was called home to be with the Lord on 12 September 2021, aged 80. Funeral Service had conducted on 15 September 2021. May the abiding peace of our Almighty Lord be the comfort of the bereaved family.

c. Our Ex-Chaplin for Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School Pr. Grace Khoo was called home to be with the Lord on 12 September 2021, aged 64. May the abiding peace of our Almighty Lord be the comfort of the bereaved family.
