Which Data are Master Data

You can distinguish following Master Data in GTS:

Business Partners (Customs Offices, Customers, Vendors, Data Providers, FinancialService Providers, Employees, Organizational Units, Government Agencies )

Sanctioned Party Lists

Customs Code Lists

Products

Country Groups, Control Groupings

 Authorizations

Licenses

Securities

This Master Data might be either transferred from the Feeder System (ERP or different

one) or entered manually in the GTS System.

It is necessary to keep in mind that Master Data are client-specific data. Whether it is

transferred from the feeder system or not, it is always available in GTS locally.

Which Data are Master Data

Some of this Master data is relevant for different part of GTS, for example:

Sanction Party Lists, Authorizations > Relevant for Compliance

Customs code lists, Licenses > Relevant for Customs Management

There are as many Master Data purposes in GTS as there are kinds of Master Data we

distinguish.

As it was said before, Master Data is stored in GTS locally. In praxis this means that

Relevant documents (MM – Material Management, SD – Sales and Distribution) from

the Feeder system are also replicated in GTS.

Business Partners and other Master Data might be transferred either initially or

periodically using Change Pointers.

Business Add-Ins (BADI)

With new BADI provided you can do following:

Map external Product Data to Customs Product Map external partner specific Product Data to Customs Product

Define your own User Interfaces to display/change the customer defined data and integrate it

into the Customs Product Workbench

Save customer defined data in customer defined tables

Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects.

They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too

specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require

special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.

the customs product master in SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services.

The BADI lets you display custom screens with data from external applications in the

corresponding tab pages in the customs product master. You can:

Activate up to three tab pages with the corresponding implementations.

Use data from the external applications to fill specific form fields in printed

documents, for example, or for foreign trade analyses based on master data based

on the external applications.

Save the separate data outside of the standard structure for the customs product

master, yet still use it during product processing.

Standard settings

In the standard system, there is no activated BADI implementation.

The BADI is designed for multiple use. You can have up to three active

implementations, each of which lets you display a custom tab page in the customs

product master.

All activated implementations (up to the maximum of three at each level) are called and

executed.

The BADI is filter-independent.
