Culturally & Linguistically Diverse• Many ethnic community associations and groups

lack the knowledge and skills needed to function effectively to meet their desired goals.

• They have limited or no knowledge of the way groups must function in Australia in order to sustain themselves, to articulate their needs, to secure resources, and to participate generally in our democracy.

Strengthening Ethnic Community Associations (SECA) Project

• 3 year project managed by Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ)

• Long-term benefits are– a range of well managed, accountable and sustainable

ethnic community associations and– organisations delivering improved services to their

members. • This will have a significant and positive impact on the

settlement and integration process for migrants into the Queensland community.
