WELCOME TO MITCHELL SENIOR ELEMENTARY

This PRIDE guide provides students and parents with important information about Mitchell Senior Elementary School. The purpose of this PRIDE guide is to aid students and parents in understanding our school culture and expectations. It is also an excellent tool to assist with the development of student organizational skills. Students are required to have their PRIDE guide in their possession at all times, and there may be random checks to insure that they are keeping up with all required assignments. The PRIDE guide also serves as a tool for parents to make sure that they know what is expected of their child at Mitchell Senior, as well as being able to know all of the assignments that their child may have. We expect parents and students to review the information in this PRIDE guide regularly. When used correctly, this guide will promote student success and answer many questions regarding school policies.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for academic and social success. Parents are responsible for making sure their children are

at school daily and on time. The California Education Code (Sec. 48200) requires that all children between the ages

of six and eighteen attend school. Students who miss an excessive number school days without communication

from parents may be dropped from the school roster. Students who must miss more than five consecutive days of

school should apply for independent study.

Truant -Students who are absent from school for 3 or more days without a valid excuse or notification.

Habitual Truant -Students who are absent from school for more than 3 days without a valid excuse or

notification on three separate occasions.

Truant Tardy –Student who is more than 30 minutes late to school without a valid excuse.

Habitually Truant Tardy- Student is more than 30 minutes late to school without a valid excuse on 3 occasions.

Excessive Absences –Student who misses more than 20 days of school regardless of reason.

**Habitually truant students and students with excessive absences, regardless of reason, will be referred to

the School Attendance Review Board (SARB), including the Merced County District Attorney’s Office.**

Reporting an Absence

Parents must immediately call the school at 357-6124 to report absences.

Homework and Make-Up Work

Tardy Policy

It is the responsibility of students to make sure that they are at school and in class on time. The school policy states that

students must be in the room at minimum in order to be considered present, however individual teachers may require that

students be in their desk in order to be considered present. It is the student’s responsibility to know each of their

teacher’s attendance policies.

The Tardy report is run each quarter. The first two tardies of each quarter are not counted against the student as

far as interventions, but will count against them for any attendance rewards including perfect attendance.

Homework

Homework is assigned on a regular basis. Homework activities are designed to promote the development of skills and

provide students with the opportunity to grow academically. Students who are absent are responsible for completing

missed assignments. Students are required to ask their teachers for make-up work the day before or the day they return

from the absence. For absences of more than three consecutive days, please call the school to request homework. Students

must complete make-up work in a timely manner. Please read individual classroom homework policy letters sent home by

teachers at the beginning of the school year so that you know individual teacher expectations.

*Students that are suspended should see their teachers regarding homework (per Ed. Code, teachers are not

required to assign homework to students that miss school due to suspension).

Independent Study

Because students need to be at school and in class, independent study is strongly discouraged. Parents of students who

must be absent for five or more school days, but not more than 15 school days, and have a valid reason should apply for

Independent Study. An application must be picked up from the Attendance Office at least five days prior to the requested

absence date, and turned into the office for approval by the principal or his designee. If approved, full attendance credit

will be given only if all independent study assignments and student work are completed upon the day of return to the

regular program. Students that are not in good academic standing or have poor attendance may be denied independent

study.

Back to School Night (August 22nd

)

Back to School Night offers parents the opportunity to meet all of their student’s teachers in one evening. During this

important evening, teachers will share a general overview of class expectations including homework, grading policy,

behavior, and curriculum. They will answer questions if time permits. We encourage and expect all parents to attend!

Aeries Parent Portal

Parents can, and are encouraged to, check their student’s grades regularly through the on-line Aeries Parent Portal. Log-in

information, user name, and password information is sent home at the beginning of the school year. Students will also be

given access to their account. Visit http://www.aesd.edu/mse or call the school office for more information.

Report Card Night (October 17th

– date subject to change)

Report Card Night offers parents the opportunity to meet with all 7th grade and many 8

th grade teachers, to pick up their

child’s report card and meet with many of his/her teachers. We highly encourage all parents to attend!

Parent Conferences (September 18th

– 22nd

from 1:15 – 2:22 daily)

Parents are encouraged and always welcome to come to school and discuss student progress. If a conference is desired

with a teacher(s) call the school receptionist at 357-6124. A conference will be scheduled at a time mutually acceptable to

all participants. Priority will be given to students that are failing 1 or more classes on their 1st progress report. Conferences

with teachers are available year round.

Report Cards and Progress Reports

The school year is divided into four quarters. Students will receive four report cards during the school year. Progress

Reports are sent home to parents at the midpoint of each quarter.

Physical Education

All students must wear designated PE clothes and change for PE every school day. Approved PE clothing is available for purchase through the Physical Education Department or a plain grey shirt and black shorts that are similar to the designated PE clothes assigned by the school may be purchased through local vendors. The students name will be written in permanent marker on the outside of the PE clothing. Students will be assigned a loaner combination lock at no charge that must be returned at the end of the year. Personal property must be kept in properly locked lockers assigned to them and lock lockers to prevent thefts. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Dress cuts are assigned when a student does not change into PE clothes or wears school clothes under PE clothes.

1st Offense – Alternative class assignment - If not completed then assigned a “0”.

2nd Offense – Teacher assigned detention and phone call home

3rd Offense – Lunch detention assigned by the office.

4th Offense – Class suspension and parent contact

5th and remaining offenses – Referral to administration for defiance

Library and Textbook Check-Out

Students are loaned a set of textbooks at the beginning of the school year to keep at home for homework assignments. All

books checked out are the responsibility of the students until returned. The students’ ID number is their library number.

Students must pay for lost or damaged books, texts, or other instructional materials. Failure to return/pay for items will

result in the student being placed on the obligation list. This will impact their eligibility for extracurricular activities.

Obligations

Students who owe money to Mitchell Senior (or previous schools that notify Mitchell Senior) will be placed on an

obligation list. Students on the list may not be able to participate in school functions or extracurricular activities including

but not limited to athletics, clubs, dances, rallies, reward trips, etc. Eighth grade students on the list will not be eligible

to participate in graduation activities. Obligations may include but are not limited to: library fees, sports uniforms, PE

loaner clothes, PE locks, textbooks, damage to Chromebook, classroom novels, cafeteria balances, etc.

Office Pass

Students must obtain a pass from their teacher, campus supervisor, or staff member to go to the office. Any student in the

office without a pass will be given a tardy. Students that come to the office during the passing period risk receiving a tardy

from their next period teacher. Students are encouraged to visit the office before school, during lunch, or after school.

Medications

All medications required by students must be given to the attendance specialist or school nurse who will dispense them as

described by the doctor. NO MEDICATION, INCLUDING INHALERS, MAY BE KEPT WITH A STUDENT AT

ANY TIME WITHOUT WRITTEN DIRECTION BY A DOCTOR. Medications include, but are not limited to,

prescribed drugs and over-the-counter medications such as aspirin and cough drops.

Cell Phone Students are permitted to bring cell phones on school campus. While school is in session, cell phones must be put away

(out of site) and turned off. Putting a phone on silent does not constitute it being off. Students may not use cell phones

while on campus, unless the teacher has allowed the use of cell phones for academic purposes. If students are permitted to

use their phone in class it is then their responsibility to turn it off prior to leaving that class. Any use of a cell phone to

listen to music (ear buds will be confiscated if seen being worn outside of class), text, take pictures or other unauthorized

use is not allowed. Students may use the school phone for emergency or other necessary calls (not during class time). Cell

phones that are used in violation of school policy will be confiscated and turned into the office. Confiscated phones will

only be returned to parents or guardians. Connecting to the school Wi-Fi through a personal device is strictly

prohibited.

Food Services The district provides students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the state and federal

requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. Families are encouraged to apply for the Free or

Reduced Lunch Program. Students who qualify will receive free lunch and breakfast. Prior year lunch application

qualification is in effect for the first 30 days of each school year. This grace period gives parents/guardians the

necessary accruing charges in a paid status. Applications are available at school sites, support services and online at

www.ezmealapp.com.We encourage parents whose children do not qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch Program to pay

weekly or monthly at the school site cafeteria or online at www.aesd.edu under the EZ School Pay link. When a paid

student’s lunch account reaches a negative balance of 3 charges or the equivalency of $5.00, a mini meal substitute

will be provided per board policy until the charges are brought current. Students and parents/guardians shall be

notified in writing, and by automated system whenever their account has a negative balance. Parents whose students have

medical or dietary conditions must contact the school nurse so that accommodations can be made.

Closed Campus

To help maintain student safety, Mitchell Senior is a closed campus. ALL visitors and volunteers must check in at the

main office for a visitor’s pass. Student visitors are not allowed on campus while classes are in session and must be

preapproved by teachers and administration for non-instructional hours. Students may not leave the school grounds during

the day without parental/guardian permission. Any item being delivered to a student must be delivered to the office.

Clean and Safe School

Keeping our school clean, and a safe place to learn, is a responsibility shared by students, parents, and staff. Please take

that responsibility seriously. The responsibility can be as small as putting trash in trash bins and as large as reporting

vandalism.

Bus Riders

Bus transportation is a privilege. Students are expected to follow the bus rules and behave properly while on the bus and

at the bus stop. If a student is misbehaving or not acting safely he/she will receive a bus citation and may be denied the

privilege of riding the bus, either temporarily or permanently. Concerns or questions regarding buses should be directed to

the district transportation office at 357-6115.

Early Check Out

Checking students out early from school is highly discouraged. When a student is checked out early it can affect student’s

attendance record and academic success. In the event that a student needs to be released from school early, students will

not be called to the office until the parent/guardian has arrived at school to pick them up. Students will not be called

early to wait in the office. Students are not allowed to sign themselves out or walk home when a parent/guardian is

not available to pick them up due to suspension, illness, etc.

Class Schedules

Students are assigned classes according to the district instructional program. Each student will be assigned classes in

English Language Arts, Math, Science, History, PE, and an elective or support class. All teachers at Mitchell Senior

provide a quality educational program in accordance with the district and school policies. Parent request for particular

teachers will not be possible due to the complexity of the school schedule and the various specialized programs unless

there are specific legal requirements for a particular class. No schedule change requests will take place within the first

two-weeks of school. After the first-two weeks of school, requests for schedule changes will be reviewed and only

schedule changes that are of a specific and necessary need will be honored. Decisions to make schedule changes will rest

with the school administration. Any request throughout the school year for a change in a particular class will be reviewed

once specific steps have been taken to remedy the situation within the particular class. A parent request for a class change

by itself is not sufficient to make a schedule change. A schedule change request form will be made available in the school

office.

Student Body ID Cards

All students will be issued a student body ID card at the beginning of the school year. Students will be required to wear

the ID at all times. Students that are not wearing their ID are subject to the school conduct consequences for willful

defiance. If a student loses their ID they will need to purchase a replacement ID from the office for a fee.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS

Mitchell Senior offers an outstanding variety of activities for all students. We encourage students to participate in as many

activities as possible throughout the year.

Athletics

Participation in Athletics or school sponsored events is a privilege and students must work to maintain high academic

standards, attendance, and behavior. Students are expected to represent Mitchell Senior in a positive light and conduct

themselves properly and display good sportsmanship. Athletics or school based activities are a privilege and the final

decision regarding eligibility rests with the school administration.

Eligibility Requirement to participate in Athletic or School Sponsored Activities (i.e. Band, Color Guard)

Students must have a 2.00 GPA or better on their last progress report or report card period.

Students may not have more than one "F" on their last report card

Students are not eligible to “try-out” for, or participate in, team activities for ten (10) school days following a one

(1) day home suspension, or twenty (20) school days following a two (2) or more day home suspension. The

“temporary suspension” from team activities begins the first day of the suspension.

Students that have multiple classroom or school wide behavior concerns during any one quarter may become

ineligible for the remainder of the quarter.

Students must attend the complete school day on the days of practice/contest unless preapproval was granted by

the administration. Students that fail to attend school will not be allowed to practice or participate in that days

contest.

Excessive absences or tardiness may result in students being removed from Athletic teams or school sponsored

activities. (See the players handbook for specific information regarding excessive absences or tardies)

School administration may remove any player from any athletic team or school sponsored event for academic or

behavior issues that arise.

Clubs School Clubs are offered during lunch time or after school. Students need to be aware of all meeting times and

responsibilities. Students need to pay careful attention to school announcements or postings regarding meeting dates,

times, location, and requirements. Students may petition the Associated Student Body (ASB) to start a club. The club

must be approved by ASB, the school administration, and the School Board prior to any meetings or events (including

fundraising).

ELIGIBILITY STANDARDS FOR GRADUATION

To be eligible to take part in the graduation ceremony and activities, 8th grade students must:

Maintain a cumulative 2.0 overall grade point average (GPA) during their 7th and 8

th grade years. Students with

special needs will be evaluated individually through the school’s Section 504 or IEP processes.

Attend at least 90% of the school days in session during the student’s enrollment in school. Home/Hospital

participation or an Independent Study Program (5-15 days) shall constitute attendance.

Have no more than two (2) home suspensions for the year.

Not be suspended (in-school or home) during the last 20 school days.

Meet the promotion requirements identified in Board policy.

Clear all obligations (i.e. textbook return, library fines, and cafeteria payments).

*The teachers and school administration will ensure that parents and students understand these requirements.

**Students enrolled in Atwater Senior Academy (ASA) during the 4th

quarter do not qualify for participation in

graduation activities.

Dances

Eligibility to attend a Mitchell Senior dance is based upon the following criteria:

Not on the school ineligibility list for academics/attendance (see Eligibility Requirements on page 9)

No in-house or home suspensions within the grading period prior to the dance

No classroom suspension the day of the dance

No 4th BBE during the current quarter

No outstanding obligations (see page 7 for more details regarding obligations)

*No refunds will be made for purchased tickets if students lose their eligibility.

Quarter Rewards

Each quarter students may be eligible for a reward based upon the following criteria:

3.0 cumulative quarter GPA

No class, in-house, or home suspensions

No more than two (2) detentions or tardies, or (1) truant tardy during the quarter

No more than three (3) days of excused absences or any (1) unexcused absences. Any single period, or part

thereof, (i.e., come to school late more than 30 minutes, leave and return for an appointment, or leave early),

which is unexcused, will be counted as a full day of absence for the quarter rewards calculations.

No outstanding obligations

*All permission slips for Reward Activities must be turned in to the school’s Activities Director by the

established deadlines.

Each 8th grade teacher will select one student, based on any criteria that they determine, for special recognition.

Perfect Attendance

Students have to be on time to every class, every day. They cannot miss, or be late to any class periods during

their 8th grade school year.

President's Award for Academic Excellence

Students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher during their 8th grade year.

CJSF Honor Members

Students must have been a member of CJSF for at least 6 of the 8 quarters during their 7th and 8

th grade years.

During each school year, students must qualify in at least 2 quarters.

Service Learning

Students must help provide at least 25 hours of community service outside of their regular classroom hours.

Services may include helping in the cafeteria, or participating in beautification projects for the school. Please see

the office manager to obtain the necessary paper work to fill out and turn in for recognition.

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS AND CONSEQUENCES

Behavior Expectations and Consequences are managed in three areas

Basic Behavior Expectations (BBE) - Basic expectations and consequences

Classroom/Campus Managed Behaviors – Expectations and consequences managed by teachers and support

staff usually less severe behavior. (Ex. Class Disruptions)

Administration Managed Behaviors – Expectations and consequences of a more severe nature handled by

school administration. (Ex. Fighting)

Basic Behavior Expectation Policy (BBE)

The BBE system is part of the overall behavior management system. These behaviors listed under the BBE policy are

basic expectations that all students are expected to follow. The goal of the BBE system is to address non severe

behaviors that can be disruptive to the school environment. These behaviors are in addition to behaviors managed

within the classroom and on the school campus. Teachers and staff will also have rules and consequences within their

classroom or on the campus that are above and beyond the BBE policy.

Consequences Notes

A pupil may be suspended or expelled at any time for acts which are enumerated in this section and related to school

activity or attendance, including, but not limited to, any of the following:

*While on school grounds.

*While going to or coming from school.

*During, while going to, or while coming from a school sponsored activity.

Law enforcement agencies may be notified at the discretion of the administration.

Students may be suspended on the first offense if it is determined that the pupil’s presence causes a danger to persons

or property or threatens to disrupt the instructional process. (E.C. 48900.5)

Students accumulating an excessive number of suspensions are subject to referral to an alternative education program.

Students accumulating 20 days of home suspension will be recommended for expulsion.

Disciplinary action will be taken if a student's behavior is disruptive to the instructional process or causes a danger to

persons or property even though the offense is not defined in this Student Conduct Code.

(E.C. 48904) Parental liability for willful misconduct of a minor that results in injury/death to a pupil or school

employee or who willfully cuts, defaces, or otherwise injures in any way any property of any school employee shall

be liable for all damages so caused by the minor. The liability of the parent or guardian shall not exceed ten thousand

dollars ($10,000). The parent or guardian shall also be liable for the amount of any reward not exceeding ten

thousand dollars ($10,000).

Students and parents have a right to appeal disciplinary action taken against a student. A meeting must be requested

with the principal/designee prior to any further appeal.

Student Activity During Suspension

Students shall not report to school during the period of suspension, except in the case of in-school suspension, unless

coming to the office on official business by prior arrangement with a school administrator.

Students are expected to be under the supervision of a parent during school hours when serving suspension days at

home. (7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Students are not to attend any school event at any school campus in the Atwater Elementary School District during

suspension.

The responsibility of obtaining and doing class work lies with the student. Teachers are not required to provide

class or home work, but also have the right to require the student to complete any assignments and tests missed

during the suspension.

School Gang-related Guidelines

*New trends in gang attire are subject to administrative review with law enforcement consultation.

Our district cooperates with law enforcement in all anti-gang activities and “anti-gang” related "copycat"

behaviors. “Wanna-be” or look-alike gang behavior is prohibited at school. For the safety of our students it is very

important that parents do not buy or allow students to wear any item that might be perceived as the showing of

"colors". This is clearly a safe campus issue, especially to and from school and out in the neighborhoods.

Any dress, grooming, or appearance which disrupts or tends to disrupt the educational process, or affect the health

or safety of individuals will be prohibited (EC 48900, EC 35183, and EC 35294.1). Any

attire/paraphernalia/symbol that signifies gang affiliation will not be allowed on campus. Any

attire/paraphernalia/symbol that displays a logo or other message promoting alcohol or controlled substances,

promoting violence, illegal activity or relating to gangs may not be worn on campus. Students may be

permanently banned from wearing a color for the duration of their Mitchell Senior enrollment.

Due to safety issues, certain clothing lines and styles are not allowed on campus. The following clothing brands

and styles are currently not allowed. They are subject to change, but include:

ATWATER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTICT STUDENT DRESS CODE

Appropriate dress and good grooming contribute to a positive atmosphere and promote student safety. Our students are

expected to dress for success each day. Mitchell Senior Staff in accordance with California Education Code, Section

48907, and with the best interest of our students, school, school-sponsored activities, and community in mind, adopts the

following middle school dress code. We appreciate your support and adherence to these guidelines.

Pants/shorts will be worn at the waist level without the need to use a belt. All belts must be worn through the

loops.

Backless, strapless, low-cut necklines or armholes, bare midriff tops, spaghetti straps, crop tops, and tube tops are

considered inappropriate for school and shall not be worn. Straps must be at least one inch wide, and only one

strap may be visible.

Garments that show underclothing or expose the mid-section are a distraction and may not be worn at school.

Shorts, skirts and dresses must be at least “finger-tip length” to be worn at school.

Any clothing (i.e. pants or shirts) with holes must have clothing underneath if above “finger-tip length” or in any

other inappropriate location which may cause a distraction.

Footwear must be worn at all times. Steel-toed shoes, cleats, or shoes with wheels shall not be worn at school.

Students must have appropriate footwear at all times. Students must have appropriate footwear for PE.

Only Mitchell Senior School purchased hats or caps are allowed on campus. Hats may not be altered in any way.

They must be worn in a forward position and taken off when indoors. Hoods of sweatshirts may not be worn

indoors.

Pajama tops, bottoms, and/or slippers will not be allowed.

Gang related offenses - A student may be suspended for five days on the first offense and recommended for an

alternative education placement or expulsion. The gang suppression police unit may be consulted. Bullying Pledge

Mitchell Senior continually strives to provide a safe and positive learning environment where all students have

a sense of belonging and trust in order to work toward success. Mitchell Senior staff does not tolerate bullying

or harassing behavior.

Bullying behavior is defined as behavior that is physically or emotionally damaging to students, is repeated and

continual, and is pervasive and hurtful. Bullying can be defined as repeated physical, emotional, or through

social media.

It is the responsibility of staff to be watchful and alert to bullying behavior and warning signs that bullying

behavior is taking place. In addition the staff will take appropriate actions to address bullying behavior when it

becomes to their attention as well to put in place steps and interventions to take care of all parties involved.

It is the responsibility of parents and students to notify school staff when these types of behavior are taking

place or when other behaviors that may lead to bullying are apparent. In addition, all students need to conduct

themselves appropriately including not participating or being a bystander to bullying behavior or ignoring

bullying behavior.

This policy works best when all parties, students, parents, and staff work together and have a common belief

that bullying behavior is not acceptable and will take action to make sure that it will not take place.

The final school-level decisions as to the suitability of dress and grooming shall rest with the administration.

Clothing, accessories, or jewelry with inappropriate language, pictures, inferences, or symbols which tend to

mock, ridicule, provoke, demean, or display words or pictures associated with alcoholic beverages, tobacco

products, gangs, sex, drugs, or items associated with alcohol, tobacco, sex, or drug use shall not be worn at

school.

Sunglasses may be worn on campus. They must be removed when indoors.

Accessories that may cause injury such as, but not limited to spiked jewelry, studded collars, safety pins, chains or

long belts will not be allowed.

Hairspray/gel, make-up, and cologne/perfume may not to be brought to school. Only non-aerosol deodorant may

be kept in the PE lockers. No face paint may be worn unless allowed during dress up days.

Professional sport team and College/University apparel is only allowed during dress up days or on College

Wednesdays.

Bandanas are not allowed to be worn except for school dress up days. Students wearing solid red or blue bandanas

during dress up days may be asked to remove the item by any staff member.

Congregation of students wearing like colors may be perceived as gang affiliated behavior, resulting in the request

to discontinue the offensive behavior and/or dress.

Classroom distractions resulting from dress code violations will not be tolerated per California Education Code

The above mentioned behavior policy does not cover all possible behavior scenarios. All disciplinary incidents will be evaluated in regards to the incident, frequency, severity, and best possible means to correct behavior. The school Principal or Designee will have final say as to the disciplinary action taken in accordance with California Education Code.

Causes for Mandatory Expulsion (Students will be suspended until the expulsion proceedings, appropriate law

enforcement agencies will be notified).

1. CAUSED SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY to another person, except in self-defense. (E.C. 48915 and 48900, sub-

section a). *Self-defense is defined as the inability otherwise to walk away from a situation.

2. POSSESSED, SOLD, OR OTHERWISE FURNISHED ANY FIREARM, KNIFE, EXPLOSIVE, OR OTHER

DANGEROUS OBJECT unless in the case of possession of any such object, the pupil had obtained written

permission to possess the item from a certificated school employee, which is concurred in by the principal or the

designee of the principal. (E.C. 48915 and 48900, sub-section b). *Look alikes may be considered objects of a

dangerous nature. If the principal deems expulsion inappropriate for this instance of possession of a knife, a

report in writing is to be sent to the superintendent who will advise the governing board that expulsion is

inappropriate due to the nature of the particular circumstances. (E.C. 48915)

3. FURNISHED OR SOLD ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (as defined in section 11053 of the Health and

Safety Code), an alcoholic beverage, or an intoxicant of any kind. (E C. 48900, sub-section c)

4. POSSESSED WITH INTENT TO SELL ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (as defined in section 11053 of

the Health and Safety Code), an alcoholic beverage, or an intoxicant of any kind. (E.C. 48900, sub-section c)

5. POSSESSED, OFFERED, ARRANGED, OR NEGOTIATED TO SELL ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE,

LOOK-A-LIKES OR IN-LIEU SUBSTANCES. (Section 11053 of the Health and Safety Code, E.C. 48900, sub-

section d, E.C. 48915, sub-section a)

6. COMMITTED OR ATTEMPTED TO COMMIT ROBBERY OR EXTORTION (E.C. 48915, and 48900 sub-

section e)

7. THREATENED, ATTACKED, OR COMMITTED ASSAULT OR BATTERY ON SCHOOL PERSONNEL

(Penal Code Sec. 240 and 242, E.C. 48900, sub-section a, E.C. 48915, sub-section a, and E C. 44014)

8. ATTEMPTING SEXUAL ASSAULT OR COMMITTING SEXUAL BATTERY is a violation of state (E.C.

48915, sub-section c) and federal law. It is grounds for expulsion.
