SKED-EVAC ALUMINUM SIDE RELEASE BUCKLE CONVERSION KIT

This Austrian made Skedco/Cobra side release buckles that are dependable and strong enough to meetthe needs of securing a patient into a Sked stretcher without the danger of breakage. These buckles arerated at 3 thousand pounds. They are durable and easy to use. When they are under tension they are veryhard to release thus accidental release under tension is not an issue. With these buckles you will no longerhave to weave the webbing through the buckles when packaging a patient. Patient packaging is often donein about half of the time as when using the original steel buckles. Because of the cost of the buckles theyare offered as a special order on new Skeds and as a retrofit kit for Skeds you already have. You do,however, get everything you pay for with these buckles. They dramatically speed up the patient packagingbecause of the ease of using them.

THE SKED RESCUE SYSTEM

Each Sked Basic Rescue System comes complete w ith :

SK-201 The Sked

Stretcher - the stretcher is fabricated from a special plastic formula whichis both flexible and durable. Securing straps with steel buckles are sewn onto the stretcher throughbrass grommets which contribute to the strength and durability. Sked is functional in the desert or

jungle. It will not break even at -120F

SK-202 Cordura backpack/ Towing Harness - this durable backpack includes shoulder strapsand pockets for storing the Sked

accessories when not in use.

SK-203 Horizontal Lift Slings - a pair of 9,000 lb. tensile strength slings is provided for hoistingthe Sked

stretcher by helicopter or other haul system in a horizontal position.

SK-204 Tow Strap - this 6 foot strap with bronze snap hooks on each end attaches the Skedstretcher to the backpack, changing the backpack to a useful towing harness. It can be used by one

or more people, in several configurations for towing the Sked. It is not to be used for hoisting patients.

SK-205 Removable Webbing Handles - in addition to the four handles sewn permanently onto the Sked

stretcher, four additional removablehandles are provided to allow the Sked to be carried by up to 8 rescuers.

SK-206 Steel Locking 'D' Carabiner - a large locking 'D' steel carabiner is included with the system for attaching the stretcher to a hoistingsystem. These carabiners are rated at a 9,000 lb. minimum break strength.

SK-207 Vert ical Lift Sling - for lifting in the vertical position, 30 ft. of 3/8" PMI kernmantle rescue rope, with a minimum break strength of 5,265lbs., is provided with a figure 8 knot in the middle.

OREGON SPINE SPLINT II (OSS II)

This spinal immobilization/extrication device is the only device of itstype available that meets all of the established criteria for immobilizinga seated patient. Unlike other vest type immobilizers, the OSS II doesnot move up, down or rotate on the patients torso when properlyapplied. The head straps are far superior to all other brands. An idealcompanion for the Sked Stretcher System, when properly used theOSS II provides for safe removal of patients from injury sights

without doing further damage to the spine. The unique criss-crossingshoulder strap design provides superior immobilization withoutrestricting breathing and, for clavical fractures, can be re-configured toretract and immobilize the shoulders. The OSS II is designed toprovide easy access to the patient's chest or abdominal area fortreatment or diagnostic procedures. It can be used in place of aconventional short backboard and as a hip or leg splint. The OSS IIincludes shoulder board not found in similar devices. WATER RESCUE SYSTEM

This unique system features a Sked Stretcher pre-rigged for extremelyrapid deployment into the water. Using CO2 inflatable float logs, thissystem can be in the water, ready to use in less than 30 seconds. Apatient can be packaged and ready for retrieval in less than 30seconds.

The Rapid Deployment System, designed especially for Marine, Navy andCoast Guard use, puts the Sked Stretcher together with the SkedInflatable Flotation System in a large custom duffel bag. The system ismaintained fully rigged in the bag. When deploying the system the user simply unzipsthe duffel bag, unrolls the Sked, triggers the CO2 cartridges, pulls two straps, and drops theready to use system into the water. The perfect accessory for your water rescue activities, these water rescue throw bags area necessity for boats and anywhere else where a potential water hazard exists.To use just open the drawstring at the top and pull out a few feet of rope. Holdthe loop at the end of the rope and throw the bag with an underhand motionto the person in the water. If you miss, pull the bag back and allow the rope to pileup at your feet. Fill the bag with water and throw it again. When the person in thewater grabs the rope, gently pull him/her into safety. SKED The Complete Rescue System

SKED-EVAC TRIPODSKED-EVAC TRIPOD EN 795 CERTIFIED

The Sked-Evac Tripod extends to ten feet high at the three anchors which are equally distant from thecenter (about 2 3/4 inches). Each of the anchors is anodized red for easy identification, and all are equallywell centered to handle a load. The anchors, header, and legs are interconnected with 1/2" stainless steelbolts to provide maximum strength. The header limits the distance the legs can spread. When at fullextension, this tripod allows you to bring the patient in a stretcher completely out of the hole. It israted to handle an NFPA rescue load. Included with the tripod is a chain which passes through thefeet to provide greater strength and stability. The chain will not degrade in acids or chemicals like

nylon straps or ropes. The legs are adjustable in 5" increments, and Skedco provides safe workingload data for each tripod height on each tripod. Brackets are available for mounting most popularwinches. Made in USA.

SKED-EVAC TRIPOD CARRYING CASE

The Tripod carrying case features heavy duty vinyl coated nylon material with an extra longzipper along its full length and across its ends to facilitate easy repacking. It has an insidepocket in the center to store the bag of chain which comes with the tripod, preventingthe chain from sliding to one end when the tripod is carried. There are handles inthe center and on each end of the bag. This bag has a 9" diameter and a 7'1" length,and will make nearly any brand of tripod easier to carry. Made in USA.

SKEDCO 4:1 RESCUE KIT

The Skedco 4:1 Rescue Kit utilizes the RescueHauler, a matching double pulley, 2 large steel 'D'carabiners, the required amount of 1/2" (12.5mm)PMI static kernmantle rescue rope, and a handy

rope bag with a pocket for storing the pre-rigged system. It can be attached to an anchorand ready to use in seconds. When orderingyour Skedco 4:1 Rescue Kit, remember that therope length is determined by using 4 timesthe distance from the tripod anchors tothe bottom of the hole, plus 30 feetfor tying knots, etc.

SKEDCO BELAY/TAG LINE KITS

Skedco now offers 1/2" PMI Rescue Ropein a variety of lengths for use as belayand tag lines. Kits include rope and

rope bag, and are available for holedepths of 25', 50', 75' and 100'. Kitscontain enough rope for hole depth

plus 25' for tying off. Measurehole depth from anchor pointto the bottom of the hole.

THE RESCUE HAULER 4:1 PULLEY DEVICE

This ingenious device combines a 3-inch double pulley with a cam. The rope can move in only onedirection when the cam is engaged. It allows you to raise a load by pulling on the tail end of therope, releasing it, and getting another grip. The cam can be released manually by pulling on theattached cord. This allows you to lower the load. The cam is guaranteed for life. There are nohidden parts to this device, facilitating minimal maintenance and easy inspection in the field.The pulley sheaves and body of the Rescue Hauler and matching pulley are anodized. Theywill meet a 200 hour salt spray test. The Rescue Hauler accommodates rope sizes from 3/8(10mm) to 1/2 (12/5mm). Maximum recommended load at the cam is 2300lb(1,045 kg)

Minimum break strength when in use is 12,000 lb (5,455 kg). When used with a separatedouble pulley as shown here, it gives you a 4:1 mechanical advantage.

SKED-EVAC CSR KITSKED-EVAC CONFINED SPACE RESCUE SYSTEM

While most customers will want to select their own equipment to meet their specific needs, it is often useful to have a starting pointwhich addresses the fundamental needs for confined space rescue. To that end, Skedco has combined what we believe to be essentiaitems into a Confined Space Rescue (CSR) Kit. The customers are free to add to or delete rescue items from the kit to acquire theappropriate equipment for their situation. Skedco recommends that competent rescue professionals be consulted to address the specificrequirements of any potentially hazardous environment. The Sked-Evac CSR Kit is available for hole depths of 25 feet, 50 feet, 75feet, 100 feet, or can be custom ordered for any depth.

SKED-PAK MEDICAL BAG SYSTEMSKED-PAK SYSTEM

Inspired by the most rigorous demands of our elite military medical groups, this medical bag system is both durable and flexible, suitablefor use by military, paramedics, field medic, smoke jumpers, search and rescue units, and any person with need for a really tough bagThe system is modular, with internal components which are removable and transferable. SKED-PAK II

The Sked-Pak II is a simpler alternative to the Sked-Pak I, for those who do not require thejumpable bag or storage for personal gear. The Sked-Pak II has the same internal dimensions andcomponents as the Sked-Pak I. This bag has a handle, which allows it to be carried like a suitcase,as well as stowable/concealed shoulder straps which allow it to be worn as a backpack. The Sked-Pak II is ideal for ground based or civilian medic, as well as air, water or ground ambulances. Sincethe removable main compartment is identical to the Sked-Pak I, a single insert could be stockedand transferred from bag to bag as dictated by field conditions.

SKED-PAK I

The Sked-Pak I Jumpable Medical Ruck includes a sewn-on single point release andremovable leg straps to meet the technical requirements for use by a parachutist. Thisdesign eliminates the need for the traditional "H" harness. When released the packdrops on a lowering line for personnel safety on landing. It includes outer storagepockets, two canteen pockets, and a removable accessory pack which can be attachedon the top or bottom. A second accessory pack can be purchased to increase storagecapacity. Compression straps, leg straps, and release mechanism are included with eachbag. The compression straps prevent loss of equipment should the zipper burst onimpact. Coil zippers are used throughout the bag, allowing sliders to be pulled backover a popped zipper, making it good as new. The Sked-Pak I includes all internalcomponents described below. It does not include pack frame or canteens. A Camelback

MASS CASUALTY - DECONTAMINABLE HAZ-MAT SKEDSTRETCHER (WMD)

This litter is designed for use in mass casualty incidents.These incidents could be airline crashes, terroristincidents, Haz-Mat or any other incident where largenumbers of people must be evacuated.

The HMD Sked is extremely versatile. It can bedragged over virtually any terrain including stairways.It requires less effort from rescuers wearing level Aprotection. The two inch side release buckles on all strapsare easy to handle with the thick gloves on level A or Bsuits. The straps are polypropylene for resistance to chemicals.They have sewn loops on the ends for quick attachment andremoval.

Patients can be rolled onto the HMD Sked rather than lifting or carrying. This creates less rescuerfatigue and allows many more victims to be saved.

A downed rescuer in level A can be roll loaded by using his air tank for leverage and evacuated before the standby team can zip up andenter the area. This allows his rescue without committing the standby team.

Ropes are attached to both ends of the HMD Sked for towing out of the Hot Zone by rescuers at decon, which allows saving energyand precious air of the level A rescuer. This results in many more victims being saved. We have seen rescuers package 25 patients in10 minutes using this method.

SHUTTLE SKED ROPE KITS

HMD Shuttle Sked ropes are constructed of 1/2 inch solid braidpolypropylene. They are 200ft. long with a figure 8 knot saftiedwith a barrel knot and taped to prevent unraveling while in use.

A Large aluminum D carabiner is attached. The rope kit includesa Haz-Mat rope bag for quick tangle free deployment. Theseropes are attached to both ends of a HMD Sked for dragging intoand out of the Hot-zone.

This system includes everything necessary for rapid evacuation of mass casualties in a chem-bio environment. MASS CASUALTY HMD SKED

HMD Skeds can be stored and shipped on pallets of 50 to 150 perpallet. Pallets can be stacked 4 high for prolonged storage of up to600 HMD Skeds in a space of 8 x 3 x 7.5 high. Bagged strap setsstored in moisture resistant boxes on top of the stack.

Pallets can be placed on 4 x 8 trailers and towed or sling loadedunder helicopters or loaded onto light trucks for transport to theincident. Two people, one on each side of the pallet can attach thestraps. HMD Skeds are assembled in 1-2 minutes each. This isfaster than they can be used.

Ready to use HMD Skeds can be rolled 1-4 per bundle in rapiddeployment bags for easy storage in compartments of Haz-Mat

rescue or fire apparatus. This allows for rapid use by units first on the scene.

Emergency responses to Hazardous Materials incidents are not just dangerous, they are very complex, personnel rich, and the equipment

is very expensive. These factors greatly limit the numbers of non-ambulatory patients that can be removed from a contaminated zone.The introduction of the HMD Sked and newly developed tactics, have greater capabilities in fulfilling the rescue mission. These include,at the very least, the ability to rapidly (a word not often used in Haz-Mat operations) remove large numbers of patients and minimizethe risk to rescuers. By using these creative new techniques and others being developed, the potential of this device is only limited bythe creativity and expertise of the trainers and field personnel. Medical Examiners have now found it safer, faster and easier to recoverbodies from the contaminated area.

The rapid deployment case holds 4 HMD Skeds assembled and ready for use. It will alsocarry 8 bagged Shuttle Sked rope kits. That allows you to have the complete kit in 2 or3 bags. With Haz-Mat incidents on the rise in this country and the potential for terroristactivities which can result in mass casualty incidents, the HMD Sked is a tool that allowsresponse personnel to efficiently and above all, more SAFELY rescue substantially moreof the victims.

This is an illustration of a system utilizing the Skyhook winch with continuous loop rope, HMD Skeds and Haz-Mat ropegrabs. As many as six victims can be dragged while sending empty stretchers back to the hot zone.

MICRO HAULER & PULLEY

The Micro Hauler is a tiny but extremely strong and efficient version of the Rescues Hauler. It comes in eithersingle or double pulley versions. The cam is guaranteed for life. The pin must be removed to allow the ropeto be removed or inserted. When the pin is in place it allows the cam to be opened just far enough to allowtravel in both directions but it can not come out accidentally. The break strength in the manner of use is7,000 pounds. The Micro Hauler is only 6 inches long and features 1 inch pulley sheaves. Suggested uses:pick-offs, line transfers, inchworm systems, raising and lowering the foot end of a basket or Sked litter fromvertical to horizontal and much more. Skedco recommends using a 2 1/2 inch long screw link for attaching

the rope at the bottom end of the Micro Hauler.
