Daryl is enjoying his second season as head golf coach at the College of Saint Benedict. Schomer led the Blazers to a third place MIAC finish in his first season with CSB and placed in the top five in five meets.

Formerly a PGA Professional, Daryl has over 15 years of experience teaching and coaching all levels of players from juniors to nationally ranked amateurs. Schomer brings a wealth of experience, collected from his accomplished mentors and life long dedication to teaching and playing the game competitively. Since regaining his amateur status 10 years ago, Daryl now enjoys competing in state and national events, most notably the 2008 US Mid Amateur Championship.

In addition to his work at Saint Benedict, Daryl is in his 11th year as a Real Estate professional and currently works for RE/MAX Results of St. Cloud, Minn.

2012 SCheDule

Heading into head coach Daryl Schomer’s second season at the helm, the Blazer golf team looks to ascend to the top of the MIAC.

The Blazers finished a strong third at the 2011 MIAC Championship, and return four of the five players who competed in the tournament last fall. The tall order, however, will be replacing Kathryn Hauff who led the way with a second place finish.

Super sophomore Grace Todora will lead that charge after posting a top-10 finish in her inaugural run in 2011, finishing eighth. Todora posted the lowest single round of the entire tournament with her 71 in the second. She posted four top-10’s in her rookie campaign and is expected to be atop the leader board throughout 2012.

Youth will be a major factor for the Blazers this season, as Karly Pratt returns as the lone senior. A consistent for Saint Benedict, Pratt twice found herself in the top-10 in her junior season, and her valuable experience will be key as the Blazers build toward the 2012 MIAC Championships.

Also returning is junior Jillian Sampair and sophomore Bridget Cummings who posted several low 80’s and were each on the course for the MIAC Champioship last season.

The Blazer returners can look back on a stretch where they finished fifth, sixth, third and first respectively as a team heading into the conference tournament last season. Another year of experience and guidance under Coach Schomer and the Blazers could make the move to the top their seeking.
