AIMS will be open 12 pm to 5 pm on Thursday
(April 18th), Friday (April 19th) Saturday (April
20th) and the morning of Sunday (April 21st).

Registration available from January 16, 2013
until March 21, 2013. Advance registration for the 2013 AIM
Symposium is encouraged by offering
discounted advance registration fees. To take
advantage of the discounted fees, register
online, by fax or by mail no later than
February 21, 2013. Registration forms and
payment MUST BE RECEIVED on or before
March 21, 2013. After this date, registrations
will only be accepted on-site in Baton Rouge.
Baton Rouge, capital city of Louisiana (LA), is steeped

gious. This is first time the SCABB Annual Meeting has

The John Moulds Scholarship consists of full & complimentary registration to attend the Advanced
Immunohematology & Molecular Symposium (AIMS), two night’s hotel accommodations in the
meeting hotel and a one year Individual membership in South Central Association of Blood Banks.
The John Moulds AIMS Scholarship was established in October of 2011 by South Central
Association of Blood Banks in his memory. John was a passionate Immunohematologist, who was
best known for establishing the international Serum, Cell and Rare Fluid Exchange (SCARF). He
was the consummate teacher always willing to share his knowledge with anyone who asked.

Dr. Marion Reid, PhD Laboratory of Immunohematology , New York Blood Center
John Moulds Memorial Lecturer
Born in Winchester, England, Dr. Reid has worked in laboratories in New
York, California, and England. She started her career as a medical
technologist and later obtained a PhD and an honorary DSc. Her
career of over 50 years has focused on the resolution of complex
immunohematology patient workups, locating appropriate RBC
components, and on performing original research. She has co
authored over 400 peer-reviewed articles as well as the popular Blood
Group Antigens Facts Book, the Blood Group Antigens and Antibodies
Guide reference texts, and The Discovery and Significance of the Blood
Groups. She has served on numerous committees, received many
awards and is a much sought-after lecturer, both domestically and
internationally.

The 2013 AIM Symposium has been approved as a provider of continuing education
programs through the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® program. Participants attending one session in each time block will earn a maximum of 10.0 contact hours. All PACE approved
sessions will be indicated by PACE course number beginning with 151.
South Central Association of Blood Banks, in partnership with Oschner Medical Center is
accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality to provide continuing medical
education for physicians. The South Central Association of Blood Banks takes
responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity.

residents attending the AIM Symposium.

A special conference rate of $129 per night, single or double
occupancy (plus applicable taxes and fees) is available for
attendees at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel and includes a
full breakfast each day of your stay. Attendees are
encouraged to make their hotel reservations early to
guarantee availability in the SCABB room block.
Reservations must be made by March 26, 2013 for the
discounted conference rate. All reservations must be
guaranteed with a deposit of first night’s room and tax.
Cancellations are allowed without penalty up to 72 hours
prior to the scheduled arrival date. The Hotel will charge
one night’s rate plus tax for cancellations within 72 hours of
the arrival date or for no-shows.
