Inside you will find the most up-to-date data available on the economic impact arts

    organizations and their audiences are having in everydistrict across Illinois, as well as contact information foreach member of the 113th U.S. Congress. With your help,we can let all of our representatives in governmentknow that, in Illinois, the arts mean business.

    District-by-DistrictIllinois delegation to the 113th U.S. Congress includes 18Representatives and two Senators. In addition toplacing Illinois 18 congressional districts in geographiccontext, these maps denote the location of everyregistered non-profit arts and culture organization

    within the district. Information on these organizationswas found using the National Center for CharitableStatistics at the Urban Institute.

    Economic ImpactThe economic impact numbers for arts organizations ineach district are based on a formula derived fromArts &Economic Prosperity IV, a study conducted by ArtsAlliance Illinois and Americans for the Arts. The study isthe most comprehensive of its kind ever conducted in

    the United States, with Illinois representing one of over182 regions included. Further information on the study orits results can be found athttp://www.artsalliance.org/research/arts-economic-prosperity.
