Adventurers registration

• BeginsWednesday, April 23, 2014 at 9:00 am

• Participantsareonlyabletoregisterforamaximumof3sessionsofDayTrippers,two–3daytrips,two–4daytrips,andone–5daytrip.

Program fees

• Allprogramfeesaredueatthetimeofregistration.Cashorchequepaymentmustbemadewithinfivebusinessdaysorregistrationwillbecancelled.

Registration methods

• ByPhoneat403 508 0110orbywalk-in(onlineregistrationisnotavailable).

• Registrationwillcontinueweekdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, until programs are full. Voicemail messages must include all registration details. Registration is complete only when the registrar confirms your request.

Important/Special information about Camp Bonaventure/Funz’Amust

•A minimum deposit of $450.00 per session for Camp Bonaventure/$225 a week for Camp Funz’Amust is due at the time of registration, unless an FSCD addendum stating full coverage can be provided at the time of registration.

• IfyouwouldlikeBetweenFriendstodirectbillFSCDforyourcampfees, anFSCDaddendumisrequiredwithinfive business days of registration.

• BetweenFriendswillensurethateverychildwithawishtoattendsummer campisgrantedtheopportunity.Asaresult,there are payment options, and fee assistance available.PleasecontactKim at 403 508 0115 todiscussyouralternatives.

• Allfees,aswellasaddendumsmustbesubmittedpriortothestartoftheprogram.Failuretodosowillresultinthechildbeingturnedawayfromtheprogram.

Cancellation policy

• Tocancelregistrationcall403 508 0110.A15%feewillapply. Cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the start of a programwillforfeitarefund.Refundswillbeprovidedonly whenvacanciescanbefilled.

• Ifaprogramiscancelledduetolowattendance,youmaytransfer toanotherprogramifspaceisavailableorreceiveafullrefund. Wewillmakeeveryefforttocontactyoupriortothestartdate oftheprogramifcancellationisnecessary.

Fee assistance

• Feeassistanceisavailablefortwo sessions per camp.Toapply, firstregisterinthecamp(s)andindicatetheneedforfinancial assistance.Anapplicationformwillbeprovidedandmustbe completedandreturnedtothemainofficewithin five business days. For more information please contact Kim at 403 508 0115.

NSF policy

• Achargeof$40.00 applies to all NSF cheques.TheNSF chequeissuerwillbegiven24 hourstomakepayments byVisa,MasterCard,moneyorder,certifiedcheque,orcash, otherwiseregistrationwillbeforfeited.

GroupsCampBonaventureisdesignedforyouthandteensages 4 to 17,withorwithoutadisability.Thecampersareplacedintosmallergroupingstofacilitateageappropriateprogramming;thisinclusivesettingcanbeadaptedtoallabilitylevels.ThroughCampBonaventure,participantsbuildself-esteemanddevelopasenseofindependenceandaccomplishment.Campersaregroupedbyagetoencourageinteractionbetweenpeers.

Remember–youcanalwayssignupformorethanoneconsecutivesession.

ActivitiesCampBonaventurefocusesonhealthylifestyleactivitiesthatchallengeourparticipant’sabilitiesinasafeenvironment.Allactivitiesaremonitoredbyourhighlytrainedstaffandmayinclude:horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, sailing, arts and crafts, games, overnight camp outs, campfire sing-a-longs, and much more! PleasenoteMinnows’activitiesrepeateverytwoweeks.

Support RatioCampBonaventurecanaccommodatecamperswitha1:2 to 1:6 ratiowithmostgroups organized into a 1:4 counselor to camper ratio. We use information collected onparticipantprofilestoassistusinstructuringratioswithinourgroupsandinprovidingadditionalvolunteersupportasrequired.

Ifyourcamperrequiresa1:1supportratio,theyarewelcometoattendcampwiththeirprivatesupportaide.Ifyouareunsureifyourcamperwillrequireaprivatesupportaide,pleasecontactGarret at 403 508 0116.

T-shirt Design ContestYourdesigncouldbeonthenewcampert-shirt! Submitadrawingofyourfavoritepartofcamp on an 8 ½” x 11” sheetofpaper.Ensurethatthe artist’s name and age,his/her parent/guardian’s name,andaphone number are on a separate pieceofpapersubmittedwithyourdesign. Send to LindseybeforeApril 25 bymailoremail at [email protected].

Minnows:Ages 4–6

Chipmunks:Ages 7-8

Session Dates and TimesMinnows can register for a maximum of 6 sessions; a $225 deposit is required at registration. All other groups can register for a maximum of 3 sessions; a $450 deposit is required at registration.

Minnows participate in one week sessions from Monday to Friday, 10:00-3:00 pm.

I.C.A.N! Campsareofferedinpartnershipwithlocalcommunitycamps.

Participantsenrollinthecommunitycampoftheirchoiceandparticipatewithoutspecializedsupport.PartnerCampLeaderswillprovidethemajorityofguidanceforyourchild;however,aBetweenFriendstrainedRecreationInclusionCoordinator(RIC)willbelocatedateachcampfortheentiresummertosupporttheinclusionprocess.

Who Can ParticipateI.C.A.N!CampparticipantsmustbeaBetweenFriends’member.Membersofallagescanparticipateaslongasthepartnercampoffersprogramsforyouragegroup.Membersmusthaveaninterestanddesiretoparticipateinactivities,andbecomfortablewithminimal supportinalargerthantypicalratio.ItisrecommendedthatmembersattendCampBonaventureiftheyneedahigherlevelofguidancethaninclusion camps provide.

Recreation Inclusion Coordinator (RIC)TheRICsupportsPartnerCampLeadersbyprovidingtipsandtechniquestocreateaninclusiveenvironment.Beforethestartofcamp,theRICwillprovidetrainingtotheirdesignatedpartnerfacilitytoeducatestaffontheinclusionprocessandbestpractices.TheRICwillalsobemonitoringtheinclusionprocessthroughouteachdayatcampandbeavailabletoallstaffforsupport.

Day TrippersDayTrippersisthenextevolutionofCampBonaventure.Participantsaged18-24yearsparticipateinfour,one-weeksessionsduringAugust.DayTrippersmeetatRiveredgePark.DuetothehighdemandforVacationerstripsandlowregistrationinDayTrippersoverthepastfewyears,DayTripperswillstartattheendofJulyandhavenoovernights.

Wondrous Water World: Activities include sailing and a visit to the fish hatchery.

Super Science: Activities include a visit to TELUS Spark and the Aerospace Museum.

Ol’ Western Fun: Activities include a visit to Heritage Park and a ghost tour in one of Calgary’s oldest neighborhoods.

Summer Lovin’: Activities include a visit to a corn maze and horseback riding at a ranch.

Session 3 $375: August 11-15

Session 4 $375: August 18-22

Session 2 $300: August 5-9 (No Camp on Heritage Day, August 4)

Session ThemeEach session is unique and offers a different theme.

CampfireCampers enjoy a sing-a-long, games and other activities. Parents and caregivers are always welcome and are encouraged to attend.

Registration limit: Individuals can only register for two 3-day trips, two 4-day trips, and one 5-day trip.

AsoneofthecharitiesregisteredwiththeScotiabankMarathon,registrantscanchoosetoparticipateintheCharityChallengeandraisefundsforBetweenFriendsinadditiontochallengingthemselvestoreachapersonalgoal.Bothrunnersandwalkersarewelcome.Distancesinclude:fullmarathon,halfmarathon,10K,5K,and aKid’sMarathon!

Between Friends Charity Golf ClassicMonday, July 14

Overrecentyears,thisfundraisingeventhasgrown tobethelargesteventforBetweenFriends.Golfers, bothexperiencedandnew,havetheopportunityto enjoyadayofgolfattheprivatePinebrookGolfand CountryClub,followedbyanamazingeveningof goodfood,greatcompany,andamazinggenerosity.
