Today: Since “walking different” is really hard, what will help us to consistently “let our light shine?” (Ephesians 4:17-24)

You SHOULD walk different (4:17-19)

I (Paul) am insisting that you must

no longer live like those around you – those who are opposed to

Christ and living immoral lives. You

must walk different.

This is HOW you walk different (4:20-24)

1) put off your old self2) remember who you are in

Christ3) put on your new self

17: don’t live like the Gentiles any longer.

18-19: these Gentiles are closed to Christ and fully committed to immorality.

1)Put off your old selfThe sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.

1)Put off your old self2)Remember who you are in Christ3)Put on your new selfAnyone who is in Christ (a Christian) is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

God made Christ, who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
