Welcome to the 2014 Williams County Fair!It brings me great pride to promote the youth of

Williams County through our Junior Fair activities! These youth have worked hard throughout the past year to set and accomplish goals and complete sev-eral projects while being involved with countless other activities. The fair is their opportunity to display and compete with these projects. Family members, neigh-bors, and friends are encouraged to congratulate these hard-working members for their accomplishments.

For Junior Fair youth, the fair is more than just one week out of the year. They have worked hard on their projects for several months prior to arrival at the fair. They have taken their responsibilities seriously by meeting deadlines, attending workshops, completing skillathons and interviews, attending club meetings, and many have elected to become the caretaker for one or more animals.

4-H members taking food, clothing and miscella-neous projects have previously competed for awards, with some being chosen to represent our county at the Ohio State Fair. These projects, along with their awards, are on display in the 4-H Building. Each 4-H club in Williams County decorates a booth in the 4-H Building. Fair visitors are encouraged to cast votes for their favorite booth through the People’s Choice Chal-lenge.

Livestock, horse, dog, and small animal exhibitors participate in their respective competitions throughout the week of the fair. Fair visitors are encouraged to show their support for these members by watching as many animal shows as possible. Please refer to the Ju-nior Fair schedule for dates, times and locations.

I hope you enjoy the 2014 Williams County Fair, and I know you will join me in congratulating all of our exceptional Junior Fair participants for their hard work through your attendance, applause and words of encouragement!

On behalf of the Williams County OSU Extension of-fice, I would like to thank all Williams County residents and the surrounding area for your continued support of the Williams County Fair, the Williams County 4-H program, and the Williams County Extension office.

If fun, great food, first-class entertainment, and best-ever exhibits are what you are looking for, then come visit the Williams County Fair. One of the largest fairs in the the tri-state region, the Williams County Fair takes place each year during the sec-ond week in September, starting on the Saturday after Labor Day.

With a history rich in agriculture, the county is home to many 4-H and Jr. Fair participants. The Jr. Fair Sale on the last Saturday of the fair brings many dollars to the youth who have worked end-lessly during the year to make that day happen. The Williams County Fair is host to a large variety of livestock, including rabbits, sheep, chickens, pigs, cows, turkeys, horses, and more.

Animals are only a small part of what the Fair has to offer. Every year we feature crowd pleasing shows with headline entertainers. Other events are the popular Demolition Derby, a County School Band Show, a cheer competition, Pari-mutuel Har-ness Racing, Horse Pulls, and Youth Night featuring the Calf Catch Drawing, Pullet Pursuit, Pig Scram-ble, and Mutton Buckin’. There is also a large as-sortment of exhibits, merchant displays, rides, and games for all ages. With the best selection of food, we have something for everyone.

The fair is not the only event that the Williams County Fairgrounds is host to. We also sponsor the Antique Tractor and Craft Festival held the last weekend in July. Events during this include a pan-

cake and sausage breakfast, an auction , kids’ ac-tivities, a parade, antique tractor pulls, and much more.

Other events held on the fairgrounds include Dog shows, Gun Shows, and many others.

Come, see what we are all about! You won’t go home disappointed.

We are located on SR 107 in Montpelier, OH, about a mile south of the Ohio Turnpike exit 13 (old exit 2). Take SR 15, south to SR 107, turn right at the light onto SR 107. Follow SR 107 into Montpe-lier. We are located on the North side of the road, just past McDonald’s.

We are just ten miles south of the Michigan state line and 13 miles east of Indiana state line.

To the Residents and Guests of the Williams County Fair,WELCOME TO THE 2014 WILLIAMS COUNTY FAIR!On behalf of the members of the Williams County Fair Board and Williams

County Agricultural Society, we would like to welcome you to this year’s fair. I would like to take the time to thank some of our very hard-working volunteers:• The Williams County Fair Foundation, who raised over $90,000 last year.• The Junior Fair Board, for all the extra time they put in to set up, spruce up,

tear down, and participate in all the fair events.• The Commodities, for taking the time out of their busy lives to serve all of you

some of the best darn food and drinks around, and for showing their support.• The Extension office (4-H office), for helping all the kids, now and in the past

100 years, by grooming them into great men and women.• Last, but not least, the men and women of the Williams County Agricultural

Society (Williams County Fair Board), and their husbands and wives, for the count-less hours of commitment. Let us all stay focused for the rest of this year and into the future!

I thank you all! Have a great week at the fair!Sincerely,

Eugene WilsonSenior Fair Board President
