"Come Lord Jesus. Come to brighten every corner of the world." As we have recently celebrated Thanksgiving and approach the seasons of Advent and Christmas, we have much to be grateful for, and much to think about for the future, in our hearts and our lives, at church and in the world. I would like to thank all those who have made commitments to support Trinity and Pennsauken UMCs through filling out estimate of giving cards as part of our recent Stewardship Emphasis. I would like to thank those who have given in special ways for Thanksgiving and plan to give addi- tionally for Christmas. I would like to also thank those folks, members and friends, who are always helping our churches prepare and providing us all with opportunities to help and bless others during the Thanksgiving, Advent & Christmas seasons. On a personal note, I would like to thank all those who have sent cards and flowers to Kathy and me as a response to my bicycle accident and our health concerns. May I remind you that these weeks ahead can be filled with plenty and joy for some and very little for others. Take some time in the upcoming weeks to share and reflect, and to consider how you can help others, no matter how large or small the gift. By yourself, or through your church, your gifts and caring service are welcome. Advent is the season in the Christian year when we hear and participate in the time of waiting for the birth of the Messiah, and we look with hope for the second coming of Christ. It is a time of intentional prayer for the light of Christ to fill the darkest corners of our world. We hear the voice of God in scripture. We hear the voices of God's people around the earth as we pray together for the brilliant light of Christ's love to warm the hearts and lives of humankind. In worship we use the colors purple and blue as visual reminders of the season. One of the prima- ry symbols of the season has become the Advent Wreath. The wreath itself is a symbol of life without end. The lighting of a candle each week marks our journey through the four weeks of Advent. The Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love bringing us closer to Emmanuel – God with us. In 2015, Advent begins on November 29 and culminates with the lighting of the Christ candle on Christmas Eve. Please plan to gather and participate in worship this Advent and Christmas season. "Come Lord Jesus. Come to brighten every corner of the world."

As we have recently celebrated Thanksgiving and approach the seasons of Advent and Christmas, we have much to be grateful for, and much to think about for the future, in our hearts and our lives, at church and in the world.

I would like to thank all those who have made commitments to support Trinity and Pennsauken UMCs through filling out estimate of giving cards as part of our recent Stewardship Emphasis.

I would like to thank those who have given in special ways for Thanksgiving and plan to give addi-tionally for Christmas.

Hello Friends! As I start this message the world is coming to terms with yet another terrorist attack. Like so many others, I just don’t understand a culture that believes that they are securing a place in heaven with suicide bombings and destruction of human lives. We follow a God who teaches that all lives are precious and whose law com-mands us not to kill. I say a prayer for healing of all those who were touched by the attacks in France and all the other senseless killings that fill our newspapers eve-ry day. We are about to enter into the season of Advent and I hope that as we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace that His spirit will quiet some of the anger and hurt that is so prevalent in the world today. As we celebrate the season of Advent, there will be lots of activities at the church that I hope we can enjoy together. Beginning on the first Sunday of Advent, we will be staying after the service to decorate the sanctu-ary and then share a meal together. The Sunday before Christmas is always an exciting day with lots of special music. On Christmas Eve there will be a service earlier in the evening at Pennsauken Methodist and then the 11 pm service at Trinity. I would also again like to thank those who continue to help out with our worship services. Peter and Pat John-ston will continue their great work as Multimedia Techs for 3 Sundays out of the month but Pat has asked if someone else would be willing to run the slides on 1 Sunday a month. If you would like to help run the sound board and slide show, please either see Peter, Pat, or me. Pat suggested that someone take the second Sun-day of each month. We continue our prayers for all those who are facing difficulties. There are many people on our prayer list who need special blessings. I send prayers to friends and families who are facing illness and loss. We ask God’s blessings on all the hurting, especially during the holiday season. And now, as I close, I share Tiny Tim’s prayer,

May God Bless us, Everyone! Debbie Curcio
