In every independent school, private support is an essential element in providing financial stability. Through the
Annual Fund, restricted gifts and undesignated donations, we are able to provide the resources needed to offer
the best possible environment for our students without significantly increasing tuition. Tuition covers only
about 82% of the Academy’s annual operating costs. Gifts to the Annual Fund make up the difference.
The continued support of our families, friends, and alumni make it possible for Oak Mountain Academy to
continue to offer a wide range of programs designed to challenge our students and create in them a
life-long love of learning.
On behalf of the students, faculty, staff, administration, and Board of Trustees of Oak Mountain
Academy, our deepest thanks go to each one of our generous donors.

2015-2016 FACULTY AND STAFF
2015-2016 SAVANNAH LEIGH BARBER SCHOLARS In remembrance of Oak Mountain Academy graduate Savannah Barber, Class of 2003, the Barber Family has established an endowment fund to provide scholarships to deserving Oak Mountain Academy upper school students. Recipients of the Savannah Barber Scholarship must be currently enrolled at Oak Mountain Academy and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their academic and extra-curricular pursuits. To be considered for the scholarship, students must also demonstrate outstanding citizenship. Since the establishment of the scholarship program by the Barber family in 2005, sixteen OMA students have received scholarships totaling over $100,000. Many of these students have since graduated from the Academy to continue their educations at colleges and universities throughout the Southeast and beyond. The 2015-2016 recipients of the Savannah Leigh Barber Scholarship are Zoie Cooke and Megan Lane. Zoie was a freshman at Oak Mountain Academy and is the granddaughter of Tom and Mary Ann Lamb of Carrollton. Megan was a senior at Oak Mountain Academy and is the daughter of Chris Lane of Villa Rica.
