Fuel Filters John Deere fuel filters’ primary purpose is to protect key components of your machine. The fuel filter system in your equipment is the last line of defence before the fuel is introduced to the injector. While there are a number of different contaminants that can inhibit the performance of a tractor or combine, water is by far the worst. John Deere fuel filters give your engine and fuel system the protection they need to ensure maximum fuel delivery efficiency.

Iron oxide (or rust) causes the injector to not properly dispense fuel into the cylinders. This causes a loss of power, leading to poor fuel economy and increased emissions. So how does John Deere go about extracting the water from the system? It’s in the filtration media. Our filters have coated media that keep water out, preventing rust and microbial growth that could damage your equipment.

Oil FiltersJohn Deere oil filters are expertly engineered to catch small particles like dirt and other contaminants before they pollute your engine. Crankshaft DampersDid you know your crankshaft damper has a service life? When torque is applied, engines generate harmful vibrations. A damper reduces these vibrations, which extends belt life and reduces gear wear. Our engine damper consists of an inertia ring, elastic member and hub assembly attached to the crankshaft. John Deere recommends changing the crankshaft damper at 4,000 to 5,000 hours or 5 years, whichever comes first in some applications.

Replacing worn belts makes good dollars and senseYou can see from the diagrams below that many combine components rely on belts to perform their functions. When you maximise the power a belt provides, you increase your machine’s productivity. Which is why replacing worn belts is so critical.

If worn belts are not identified and replaced in time, feeding, threshing and separating performance can be affected. For example, when cylinder speed increases to compensate for worn components, it can cause incomplete threshing or grain damage. Ultimately, worn belts can lead to equipment failure, downtime and expensive repairs.

Good belt drive maintenance involves:
