Refurbishment of a manor farm Puglia, Italy
Client: private The project starts from the idea of pure volumes built with the typical materials of the Puglia’s area, such as stone and lime. We focused on the dialogue between the old manor farm and the new construction and we respected the historical pre-existences trying to design a new portion of the country. We have been inspired by the typical manor farm and we used the same peculiarites, such as small random windows, for the new project

Private Villa in the Hills - Florence
credits: AMDB Architects Refurbishment and restyling of a large villa of the 70s. The project rethinks and reorganizes all the interiors, modifies the external facades using contemporary materials and finishing.
New volumes have been added to the ancient building to create a fitness room with a panoramic swimming pool which connects the interior with the exterior space. A particular attention has been dedicated to the design of the interiors and the selection of the furnitures.
Private Villa in the Countryside - Tuscany
credits: AMDB Architects The project aims to mantain the charm of the ancient building modernazing the interiors and rethinking the spaces distribution. A new exterior space has been created too: a modern wooden bower which permits to enjoy the countryside in a comfortable, charming way.
Refurbishment of a luxury apartmentFlorence
credits: AMDB Architects
The apartment is part of an historical building close to the Arno River. The challenge was to think about a full restyling without losing the strong, beautiful nature of the building. We opted for an elegant, eclettic style, decorated but contemporary.
Refurbishment of villa in the hillsFlorence
credits: AMDB Architects
The villa has been totally refurbished, fro the exterior to the interior. For the exterior we chosed natural material such as natural stone, and for the interior a minimal style with some touches of colour.
Interior project for a villa in Tuscany
The project consists in the extension of a small dependance in the Maremma country. Natural and sustainable materials will be used, such as wood and stone, and for the heating and the production of hot sanitary water will be used a thermal chimney.
The interior, warm and bright, will be well enlighted thanks to the big window set in the western side of the house.

A minimal bathroom
Concept for the design of a 6 m² bathroom made of natural stone.Material used: travertine (smooth or bush-hammered); onyx marble; limestone. All the elements (sink, bathtub, lamps..) have been designed specifically for this project.
Exposition project for the Florence Design Museum
The project concept consists in the collocation, in the empty space of an ex-factory in Florence, of some transucent solids in policarbonate.
Some displays made of black pvc and white glazed back-lighted glass underscore the spaces and bring out the artistic works.

People change their mind every day. Taste depends on the mood, external input or personal inspiration. The project aims to create an object which can be moved and changed every day, according to the creativity. A metal sheet and three figures (a rectangle, a hook and a surface) are enought to create a huge variety of combinations.

HONORABLE MENTION The idea for this competition was to create a no-stereotyped image. The motto “be different” wants to remark this aspect, trying to create a logotype which could be inter-preted depending on the point of view. The precious finishing gives character and strenght to the desi-gn.
COMPETITIONS
ENERGY FACTUMre-inhabiting productive infrastructures
with Bernadette Soust Marica Vezzana Julián Sánchez-Prieto
Competition for the refurbishment of an ancient water mill in Valencia and re-occupation as an energy museum. The concept was to create a building which is not only an energy container, but an energy generator too. The building is 100% self-sufficient and use passive energy strategies such as solar chimney, natural ventilation, photovoltaic panels, hidroelectric
energy. We chose to integrate the ancient machine for the flour milling in the museum to show the traditional process. We chose not to treat the principal facade with a cladding, instead we decided to leave a white wall to use the whole building as a giant screen for proyections. This strategy will give new life to the neighborhood and let the museum become a hot point in the city.

Primary School in Winnenden,Germany
credits: MEDIOMUNDO Arquitectos In this competition participants were asked to design a new building for the existing Robert Boehringer Community School. The project aims to introduce a new concept of learning and socializing, creating three “learning houses” in the second floor. Each learning house includes four classrooms (two for each year), services, a teaching room and a “market space”, where children can play and share their knowledge. The creation of a patio for each “house” permits to enjoy open air spaces. The first floor is dedicated to administration rooms, special classrooms (music, physics, chemistry, etc.) and common spaces. The restaurant, set in the southern part of the plot, has a transparent courtain wall that allows the light in an permits to have an open sight to the new spaces.

Multicultural Space in Eibarcredits: MEDIOMUNDO Arquitectos The architecture is not and doesn’t finish with the building. It is a complex process and it is above
all what happens before and after the building process. We called it “Architecture in transit” because of its variable nature. We tried to give this dimension to the project. We where asked to design a multicultural space for the city of Eibar, Spain, with meeting spaces, markets and shops. We imagined a huge square covered with a metal structure which can host every kind of event.
A house in Luanda, patio and pavillon
credits: Stefano Sasso The patio as a metaphor of meeting, exchange; a small agora open to group activities: housework, the trading market, play. Instead of a patio designed for one dwelling, we devised a common space in which four families are related and seek socialization. To achieve
this, instead of thinking on a single lot we joined 4: this yields a macro-base unit that can be easily replicated. This enables, with slightvariations plans, a variety of com-binations that are related with re-spect to two parallel roads. In the house we wanted to give conse-quence to the issue of sharedpatio, bringing the outside inside the home, and vice versa.
