Pray for the Yavapai Territorial Gospel Rescue Mission asthey continue to reach out with the Gospel and and carefor the homeless, poor, and at-risk families and individualsof Yavapai County.

    Bible Reading: Mark 2:1-12; 1 Corinthians 4; Psalm 76; Joshua 10-12

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, com-passionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint againstanother, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, soyou also must forgive.” – Colossians 3:12-13

Who in your church most frequently “gets on your nerves” orsins against you? Maybe it is even someone in your home.Think about how you are most likely to respond to their sin. What ways might you be tempted to become frustrated, bitter,or angry? Could it be that God is exposing, in your heart, one ofthe greatest ways that you are not like Christ? Could it be thatGod is teaching you to patiently endure? Could it be that God iscalling you to show them the gospel in your response?

This situation is not beyond hope. Restoration, reconciliation, peace and joy in friendship are exactly the kind of thing that the

Gospel produces. “As the Lord has forgiven you” not only areyou commanded to forgive, but you have also been empow-ered to forgive. As God’s chosen ones, you can put on “com-passionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”

    Bible Reading: Mark 1:9-20; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31; Psalm 73; Joshua 3-5

Paul writes to Timothy in 1 Tim 5:3-16 that the people of thechurch should “honor widows who are truly widows” and“care for those who are truly widows.” Without getting intoall the details of the passage, one thing is clear: as Chris-tians, we are called to have a heart for widows. This is muchin line with God’s heart for widows throughout scripture(Read Ex 22:22-24, Deut 10:18, 24:19-22, 27:19, Ps 68:5,James 1:27). Widows can often be an easily overlookedgroup of wonderful women who have been through greatdifficulty. Their faith in the Lord through trials ought not to gounnoticed, but instead should serve as an example to us all.

Do you know the widows of our church? What ways mightyou be able to come alongside them as an encouragementto them? Have you made time to spend with them? Whatways might you be able to benet from their wisdom andexperience? What ways might you be able to “honor” and“care for” them? How can you pray for them right now?

    Bible Reading: Mark 1:21-34; 1 Corinthians 2; Psalm 74; Joshua 6-7

Go to gty.org and read the fourth blog post in the PersonalEvangelism 101 series: Offer God’s Mercy

This blog post can be easily found by typing in the title ofthe blog post into the search engine bar on gty.org

Bible Reading: Matthew 28:11-20; Romans 16; Psalm 71; Deut. 33-34

On Canyon Elders Blog (at CanyonPrescott.org), read therecap of the Shepherds Conference, and watch the 2minute video clip from a sermon at the conference by PaulWasher. After watching the video, ask yourself this: Whatways would God want me to deepen my appreciation forChrist through the study of His Word? What practical stepscan I take to do this? If after this, you are looking for aplace to read more about Christ, turn to Colossians 1.

    Bible Reading: Mark 1:1-8; 1 Corinthians 1:1-17; Psalm 72; Joshua 1-2

Psalm 72 is a prayer for the King. This was prayed for Is-rael’s king at the time of its writing and for kings after that.Pray through this passage for our government leaders.Ultimately, pray this passage in light of our Lord’s comingeternal reign.
