Check the foot growth regularly, and replace the shoe when necessary.
Allow the foot to breathe, by choosing shoes lined with natural materials.
When wearing closed shoes, ensure your baby wears socks.
Choose a shoe with a slightly raised rear, to help little ones during their first steps.
Opt for shoes with lightweight, flexible soles, which facilitate walking without straining muscles.
Allow your baby to walk barefoot on uneven surfaces. This stimula-tion encourages the formation of the arch of the foot.
Choose shoes that restrict or stiffen your baby’s foot, especially at the front.
Put the shoes in the washing machine - the materials can deteriorate during washing.
Buy shoes that are too large, which could rub against the foot, causing blisters or scrapes.
Place worn shoes on your baby, which could lead to incorrect posture.
Use orthotic supports or anatomic insoles before the foot arch is fully formed, unless prescribed by a paediatrician.
