Dobrý den,
Would you, or members of your organization, be interested in learning Czech from
the comfort of your home? The Schulenburg Campus of Blinn College has recently
begun offering Czech language classes via synchronous learning – in a live, online
classroom. Students are able to join the class from any location where they have ac-
cess to high-speed internet. Our instructor, Thadious Polasek, has been teaching
Czech for 35 years, at both the high school and college level.
Please let your members and friends know about this opportunity to learn the Czech
language and help preserve a vital part of the Czech culture:
Beginning Czech I – meets Wed. & Fri. – Sept. 6 to Dec. 8 @ 7 pm - 9 pm (Central)
Intermediate Czech I – meets Tues. & Thurs. – Sept. 5 to Dec. 7 @ 7 pm - 9
pm (Central)
Advanced Czech – meets Tuesdays – Sept. 19 to Nov. 14 @ 7 pm - 9 pm (Central)
Our fall class schedule is also available online at http://www.blinn.edu/schulenburg/
czech.html
We are also actively seeking scholarship funding for students who find the cost pro-
hibitive. We hope your organization will consider contributing to assist our dedicated
students who are committed to preserving and passing on the language of their
Czech heritage. 100% of scholarship donations go toward tuition for our Czech lan-
guage students. Donations can be made out to Blinn College and sent to Ms. Becky
Garlick, Campus Director at the address below. Please note Czech scholarship on
your check and envelope.
We hope you will share this information with your members, and consider becoming
a student or help by supporting other Czech language students.
Cordially,
Loraine Orellana
Coordinator of Distance and Community Education
