Wanderer’s Reunification Program The objective of the Wanderer's Reunification Program is to identify and reunite aloved one with Alzheimer's disease or other form of dementia with their caregiver asquickly and as safely as possible, thus reducing the time of separation and trauma to
the loved one. We have expanded this program by adding a Human Scent Kit. Anadditional part of this program is ID jewelry, which provides contact information linking
the loved one back to their caregiver.
HUMAN SCENT PRESERVATION KIT: Using the human scent preservation kit, aloved one with the disease can be located more quickly and in a more cost-effectivemanner than dispatching a helicopter with heat seeking equipment or multiple manhours for foot searches. Using a scent pad that has been correctly preserved within asealed sterile jar reduces contamination of the sterile scent article. It ensures that theK9 team is trailing the targeted person's unique scent. This is a free to anyone in need.
The purchase of the kits came through a grant in Hernando County.
Respite Care Financial Reimbursement Assistance Program The Respite Care Financial Reimbursement Assistance Program
provides financial reimbursement to paid members of the organization once in a 12-month period to those that have been approved for the program.

COMPANION NEWSLETTER16,000 copies continue to be distributed annually. After a significant cost analysis of The
Caregiver’s Companion, the AFO Marketing Sub-committee presented to the Board to bringthe development of the publication in-house, changing to color copies and to be printed on
better quality paper. The Marketing & Media Specialist has the qualifications to take thisproject on and was also able to find a print company at a significantly lesser rate. We are
excited about the changes that are coming!
SUPPORT GROUPSSupport groups are for family members, professional caregivers and others interested inlearning more about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia as well as managing the journey
through the disease. The meetings are free, and everyone is welcome. A significantnumber of individuals attended in 2019. As we work to improve reporting with leaders,we will have a more solid count in the future. The number we were able to accurately
track in 2019 was 3,002 times a caregiver attended an AFO support group. * not all leaders have turned in sign in sheets.
