WELCOME TO CIRCUIT DE BARCELONA-CATALUNYA
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is welcoming the
F1 World Championship from 10 to 12 May to
stage the fifth round of the world championship
calendar. This edition of the FORMULA 1
EMIRATES GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2019
included, the Catalan facilities will have hosted
29 Grands Prix, thus strengthening its condition
as a consolidated circuit, appreciated by teams
and drivers. This year, the Circuit has been again
the only venue of a Grand Prix that has also
hosted all of the preseason testing, after a
decision made by all stakeholders of the FIA
Formula One World Championship™.
Sitges, Pedralbes and later Montjuïc were host
to the FIA Formula One World Championship™
until 1975. The relationship between the top
level motorsport competition and Circuit de
Barcelona-Catalunya started on 29 September
1991, only 19 days after the inauguration of the
facilities, with Nigel Mansell winning the race,
joined on the podium by Alain Prost and
Riccardo Patrese. Along these years, the Circuit
has had several different race winners, most of
them world champions: Nigel Mansell, Alain
Prost, Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher, Jacques
Villeneuve, Mika Häkkinen, Kimi Räikkönen,
Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Jenson Button,
Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, Pastor
Maldonado, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and
Max Verstappen.
After a streak of 10 different winners in 10 years,
Lewis Hamilton broke the course of history at
the Circuit. The Briton won the two last editions,
in addition to the victory he achieved in 2014.
This year, he will be arriving at Circuit de
Barcelona-Catalunya to show whether or not his
abilities are enough for this duel-filled season.
The Mercedes driver has already achieved a few
victories this season, just as his team-mate
Valtteri Bottas. They are both on the top spots
of the standings after the staging of the races in
Australia, Bahrain, China and Azerbaijan.
However, on the track, we will have to follow
closely the performance of their closest
followers, the Ferrari drivers, who are fighting
another of the most intense duels of the season,
between world champion Sebastian Vettel and
rookie Charles Leclerc. Seniority and experience
against youth and learning.
Within team Red Bull it seems that the challenge
is being won right now by Max Verstappen. So
far, the Dutch driver has achieved better results
than newbie Pierre Gasly. Among the leaders
there is also Kimi Räikkönen, who is defending
the colours of Alfa Romeo this year.

The local representation will be in charge of
Carlos Sainz this year. The Spaniard is
contending his first season with McLaren and he
will surely be giving his best in front of a devoted
home crowd.
And if this weren’t enough, the FIA Formula One
World Championship™ will be joined by other
series that will complete an intense activity
programme on the track: FIA Formula 2, FIA
Formula 3 and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. These
are top level events that always provide for
heart-stopping races.
The F2 championship includes young talents like
Mick Schumacher, European Formula 3
champion, who is driving for the Prema Racing
team. This will be the German driver's first
season in Formula 2. But the eyes will be fixed
on all of the participants. This championship is a
platform for young talents who are trying to get
a place in the world of top competition, such as
Tatiana Calderón (Alfa Romeo test driver) or
Nicholas Latifi (Williams reserve driver).
An unforgettable experience at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
All fans attending the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI 2019 will have the chance to enjoy an unforgettable experience, watching the F1® show live in benchmark facilities with high quality services. The comfort of the spectator areas, the catering offer, the excellent communications to get to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the hotel accommodation capacity in the region and the city of Barcelona – only 35 km away from the Circuit – as a
worldwide first class tourist destination, turn the FORMULA 1 EMIRATES GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI into one of the most attractive Grands Prix in the calendar of the F1® World Championship. Spectators can choose from a competitive ticket offer, going from the general admittance area to 14 different grandstands, three of which can be bought per days (B, E and N), and are located in the most interesting sections of the track. The ticket offers for 2019 include novelties, such as the inclusion of two new concepts: Pelouse Jove and the Family Grandstand, two options for a single day: Sunday. Pelouse Jove is aimed at people between 16 and 30 years of age and gives the chance to enjoy the F1® show for only 35 euros. The Family Grandstand consists of adult tickets (99 euros) and junior tickets (49.50 euros) that can be combined in different ways.
The tickets to the event, the Circuit Member card and the Circuit Official card or hospitality pass, offer different advantages to enjoy the city of Barcelona and its surroundings after the Grand-Prix-days, such as at the Motor Show in Barcelona or La Roca Village.
Unique experiences and proposals that will make it possible for everyone to enjoy the Grand Prix from 9 to 12 May in his/her own way, combining motorsport with an unbeatable atmosphere at all times.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will turn into a true fun festival. Energy, music, culture and engines will go hand in hand from 10 to 12 May, with activities and proposals for everyone: the usual classics and new experiences to create an unmatched atmosphere. There will be a non-

stop programme of activities to let all those attending enjoy throughout the weekend. The F1® festival will not only consist of speed, fuel and overtaking. To let everyone enjoy the experience to the limit, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has created a space to satisfy young, middle and old. The Family Village will be set up this year again, but filled with novelties and proposals. Located next to Grandstand N (Family Grandstand) and occupying the space of the former heliport as well, the Family Village will hold several areas, aimed at different ages. For the youngest, there will be face-painters, creative workshops, giant games, big-heads featuring the Pink Panther, Captain Hook, Minnie & Mickey, a circuit with pedal karts for children and much more. The youngsters will be able to enjoy simulators, as well as a stage with live music provided by DJs. Youngsters and adults will have the chance to enjoy the chill-out area offering a large catering offer with the food trucks. The area of the Family Village will also be the venue of the electric kart track, an option that is committed to sustainability offering two-seat karts, karts for children and adapted karts for people with a disability; as well as an exhibition of historic Formula 1 models, a distinguished selection of 15 spectacular units filled with history (on Sunday). Another area created especially for the sports event, is the Pelouse Jove, the great novelty of this edition. The space has been designed for youngsters (from 16 to 30 years) to enjoy the show on the track on Sunday, surrounded by an amusing atmosphere at Turn 5, for only €35. DJ, chill-out area, food trucks, giant screens and animations to liven up Grand-Prix-Sunday. The
Orange Grandstand will also be spiced up with live music. All of the public areas will have continuous animation with the aim of making the popular Catalan culture known. There will be Atabaleros (kettledrum players), Castellers (human towers), giants and stick dancers to transmit fun and joy to everyone non-stop. Representing the most urban culture, the prestigious graffiti artist Axe Colours will perform one of his works of art on site (Fan Zone) during the weekend. The FORMULA 1 EMIRATES GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2019 will include the classic events from Thursday to Sunday: On Thursday, the traditional Pit Lane Walkabout (16 -18.30 h) and the Autograph Session (16 - 18 h). Right after, there will be a karting exhibition on the main straight of the Circuit, with the participation of some children and the attendance of some of the World Championship drivers, who support this modality that serves as a school that many of them have gone through. On Saturday from 18 to 19 h the Fan Forum intends to get all the attention. Located within the Fan Zone, some of the drivers will get close to the stage and make the fans enjoy as never before. At 19 h, there will be the runners race Run The Track for the most daring runners, willing to see the racetrack from a different perspective, on the evening before the staging of the Grand Prix. The last day, Sunday, will offer the highlights of the weekend. Before the start of the race, there will be a drivers’ parade on the track. A couple of minutes later, it will be time for the opening ceremony, one of the most exciting moments. This year, the show will be led by the human

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HELPING TO MAKE
THE ORGANISATIONAL SIDE A SUCCESS The finest organisational work on the sports side must go hand in hand with a suitable welcome for the enthusiasts, from the time they spend on the road to when they take up positions at the Circuit, and good arrangements for the media and clients of the various hospitality areas. Getting everyone into and out of last year's Formula One Grand Prix was handled very successfully. This year Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will be ready again to take on the challenge of achieving maximum fluidity in the access points. The basic recommendations are these: > Use public transport In addition to studying various options with Catalonia's police force (Mossos d’Esquadra) for getting to and leaving the Circuit in such a way as to keep traffic problems down to a minimum, the Circuit will be continuing to offer options for getting to Montmeló by public transport:
- The Sagalés coach company will be making it possible to get to the GP by coach from Barcelona. The bus stop is located in the Barcelona North Bus Station, platforms 25, 26 and 27, and arrives at the Eastern Area of the Circuit. Tickets cost 15 euros and reservations can be made from the Sagalés company (www.sagales.com - tel. 902 13 00 14).
-The Spanish railway company Renfe will be reinforcing its line-2 regional-train service from Barcelona by putting extra places to facilitate getting to the F1® Grand Prix. Renfe will be putting on special trains linking Barcelona and Montmeló. Once at Montmeló, there are three ways of getting to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya: using a special shuttle service, by taxi or going on foot, which takes about 30 minutes (www.renfe.es).
> Taking advantage of the areas set aside for private vehicles Recommended exits from the AP7 motorway and the C17 main road are shown for getting to the Media Car Park, as well as for getting to the other car parks at the surroundings of the Circuit. > Follow instructions from the police and the organisation staff Take note of the information posters put up outside and inside the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. For security reasons, no cans, bottles, fireworks or any other potentially dangerous objects may be brought into the Circuit.
